What the seven images and headline establish
ScreenRant’s headline reads, “Prime Video’s ‘Spider-Noir’ Swings Out 7 New Images and a Surprising New Villain.” Its search listing attributes the story to Rianna de Bono-Smith, but the listing does not expose the article body or image captions. That means the seven images and the specific villain reveal cannot be reliably identified from the headline alone. IMDb’s listing of the ScreenRant story provides the headline and attribution, not the missing details.
A separate GamesRadar report on character art names Sandman, Silvermane, Electro, Cat Hardy/Black Cat, and a mystery character. It associates Sandman with Jack Huston, Silvermane with Brendan Gleeson, Cat Hardy with Li Jun Li, and Electro with Joe Massingill. Those are reported characters, not confirmation of which villain ScreenRant called surprising.
Who is at the center of Spider-Noir?
Amazon describes Ben Reilly as a down-on-his-luck, seasoned private investigator in 1930s New York. After a personal tragedy, he is drawn back into his past as the city’s one superhero. Nicolas Cage plays Reilly, also known as The Spider. The series is based on Marvel’s Spider-Man Noir comic. Amazon’s official series guide lists Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as Cat Hardy, and Karen Rodriguez as Janet, alongside Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson.

How this series relates to Spider-Verse
The live-action series is not a continuation of the animated Spider-Verse story. GamesRadar, reporting on showrunner Oren Uziel’s interview with Empire, quoted him describing the relationship as: “Same character, different universe.” Uziel also said, “It’s not a continuation of Into The Spider-Verse.” GamesRadar’s account of Uziel’s comments makes the distinction explicit: the character draws on the same broader comic identity, but the live-action show has its own continuity.

Amazon’s guide lists two presentation options: “Authentic Black & White” and “True-Hue Color.” The choice changes the visual treatment, not the show’s story or continuity.
