She later said it recalled the friends’ teenage-era style in 2008 and expressed how happy she was for Gomez and how meaningful it had been to share her life. Swift said she kept her own engagement out of the remarks, and denied joking that Gomez had beaten her to the altar. The complete speech has not been publicly reproduced in the sources cited here.
What did Taylor Swift say in the wedding speech?
Swift described the speech during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She said she made a point of keeping the focus on Gomez: “So I did make a speech, but I actually made a point not to mention anything about my engagement.” ELLE reported her account.
Swift said she lightly teased the pair’s fashion choices from 2008, when they met as teenagers. She described the joke as “light teasing” about “the way that we used to dress,” then said she spoke about her happiness for Gomez and “how beautiful it’s been to get to be a part of her life.”
Those are Swift’s recollections of the speech, not a transcript. No complete version of what she said at the reception is publicly available in the cited reporting, so the remarks should not be reconstructed as though they were delivered verbatim.

Did Swift joke that Gomez beat her to the altar?
No. Swift denied making that joke when discussing the speech on The Tonight Show. The claim should not be presented as part of her toast: her own account was that she avoided centering herself and kept her engagement out of the remarks. ELLE’s account of the interview reports both the denial and her explanation.
What else did Swift say about the wedding?
In a separate interview with SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, Swift spoke about seeing Gomez as a bride, rather than recounting the speech. She called Gomez “the most beautiful—not just the most beautiful bride…[but] the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen,” and added, “Just so happy, and she deserves it so much.” ELLE reported those comments.
