He did not name Steinfeld in the post, and the available reporting does not establish what he intended it to mean.
What did Moore post?
On November 29, 2024, Moore wrote on X: “There’s still more people to meet. More opportunities to come. And more chances to try. Live, learn, apply.” The post did not mention Steinfeld. PEOPLE reproduced the post, while Moore’s original X post is available online.
Steinfeld announced her engagement to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen on the same date. Because the two events coincided, some fans interpreted Moore’s words as possibly expressing feelings for his costar. That interpretation is speculation: the timing does not prove a connection, and Moore’s intended meaning has not been established in the reporting.
What did he mean by “the internet’s been killing me”?
At a panel at Fan Expo San Francisco 2024, Moore addressed the online reaction. PEOPLE reported that he said, “It’s been a tough weekend, my brother. The internet’s been killing me, I’m sorry.” PEOPLE’s account cites Screen Rant for the panel remark and does not provide a full transcript, so the quote should be understood in that reported context rather than as part of a complete exchange.

But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
What did Moore say in his December 4 TikTok?
Moore returned to the chatter in a TikTok posted December 4. PEOPLE quoted him saying that, given “all the stuff going on in the workspace,” he could not make someone uncomfortable and expect that to be acceptable. He added: “In reality – on social media, it’s fun and games. In reality, I would lose my job. Keep that in mind.” These were Moore’s comments about the reaction and workplace conduct; they are not independent evidence of any offline conduct.

Moore and Steinfeld work together on the animated Spider-Verse films: Moore voices Miles Morales and Steinfeld voices Gwen Stacy. Their characters have a fictional relationship, but that is not evidence of the actors’ personal feelings. The sequence of the engagement announcement and Moore’s general post helps explain why fans speculated, but neither the timing nor their professional connection confirms the post was about Steinfeld.
