The picture is her Rolling Stone July/August 2025 cover: she wears white sheer thigh-high stockings, while extremely long blonde curls fall down her back and conceal her torso.
Which Sabrina Carpenter image is this?
The image is the cover of Rolling Stone’s July/August 2025 double issue, promoted as the magazine’s “Summer of Sabrina.” It is a magazine-cover photograph, not a music-video frame, red-carpet photograph or album-cover image.
David LaChapelle’s portfolio identifies the session as a shoot of Carpenter in his Los Angeles studio for the special July-August 2025 issue. The portfolio says the issue was scheduled to debut on August 29, 2025, during promotion for Carpenter’s seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend.
Was Sabrina Carpenter actually nude?
No. The published image shows white sheer thigh-high stockings. Her hair is styled into exceptionally long blonde curls that cascade down her back and provide the visual coverage over her bare torso. That styling is why headlines sometimes describe the look as Carpenter wearing “nothing but her hair,” even though the image includes visible hosiery.

The wording describes the illusion created by the pose, hair and framing; it should not be read as confirmation that the cover depicts full nudity.
Who created the Rolling Stone cover?
The production credits identify the following team:
| Role | Credit |
|---|---|
| Photographer | David LaChapelle |
| Creative director | Joe Hutchinson |
| Fashion editor/stylist | Jared Ellner |
| Hair stylist | Evanie Frausto |
| Makeup artist | Carolina Gonzalez |
| Manicurist | Zola Ganzorigt |
LaChapelle’s own description specifically places the photography in his Los Angeles studio. The hair and styling credits are central to the cover’s effect: the concealment depends as much on Frausto’s hair design and Ellner’s fashion direction as on the camera angle.
Why the cover appeared in 2025
The cover was part of Carpenter’s promotional cycle for Man’s Best Friend, described as her seventh studio album. Rolling Stone’s companion coverage connected the shoot with her career and the forthcoming record, making the image an editorial portrait tied to an album campaign rather than a separate publicity stunt.

The defining features are the degree of body concealment, the unusually long hair, LaChapelle’s studio photography and the fact that this is a magazine cover. Those distinctions matter when separating it from album artwork, promotional stills or other editorial portraits that may use different photographers, lighting and styling.
