Happy accidentally comes into contact with the Hulk sample and gradually changes into a large, purple Hulk-like figure. The recap calls this form the Freak. He is not Bruce Banner becoming a new Hulk: it is Happy who undergoes the transformation.
How does the fight with Hammer end?
Happy’s new strength lets him take on Hammer’s hijacked Iron Legion, but his appearance makes him look like the danger. Hammer then takes control of Hulkbuster armor, setting up a fight between the transformed Happy and Hammer in the suit.

Why does Happy save Justin Hammer?
Hammer is falling to his death, but Happy catches him. That choice gives the ending its clearest character beat: even after gaining frightening power and fighting the man who attacked the tower, Happy still exercises judgment and chooses to save him.
The immediate threat is over, and the rescue makes the resolution about more than who wins the fight. Happy’s strength does not erase his compassion.

Is the episode really a Die Hard story?
A secondary reference reports that the episode was inspired by Die Hard. Disney’s official episode materials describe a holiday-party attack at Avengers Tower, but do not confirm that inspiration. It is safest to call it a reported influence or a Die Hard-style setup, not a confirmed creator statement.
As an editorial comparison, the two stories share a holiday setting and a siege-like action premise. Their protagonists and tone differ: this episode puts Happy, a transformed supporting character, at the center of a superhero comedy-action story, while the comparison is useful for its holiday action framework rather than as proof of a direct adaptation.

What the ending leaves unanswered
The available episode listing and recap do not establish whether Happy can reverse the transformation or keep the Freak’s powers afterward. The ending also does not establish a lasting change to the main MCU timeline. Those outcomes should not be inferred from this episode’s final fight.
