What happened in Kate Beckinsale’s window video?
In the video, Beckinsale exposed her bare bottom from a window across from London department store Harvey Nichols. The Independent, TMZ and Marie Claire described the video as directed toward the store. Their reporting does not establish whether anyone on the street noticed it or reacted.

Beckinsale posted the video on Instagram on July 1, 2024. The Independent reported that she said a friend had come over and the two made prank calls and mooned the store.
Why did Beckinsale moon Harvey Nichols?
In the caption, Beckinsale connected the prank to the death of her cat Clive and to receiving other distressing news the next morning. She described the contrast between grief and an irreverent response: “sometimes when the bottom falls out of your world the only response after crying till you’re sick is your own bottom.” The quote was reproduced in reporting of her Instagram post.

What was the other “horrific news” she mentioned?
Beckinsale did not disclose what the other news was in the caption as reported by The Independent, TMZ and Marie Claire. Those reports do not identify it, so claims about what happened would be speculation.
