There is no single ABC channel number on Samsung TVs. With an antenna, scan for the local ABC affiliate; its channel number depends on your area. Cable and satellite numbers depend on your provider. Samsung TV Plus is different: ABC News Live was listed as channel 1112 in the U.S. lineup dated May 22, 2024, but it is a streaming news channel, not the local ABC station.
First, identify which ABC you want
“ABC” can mean three different things on a Samsung TV:
- Your local ABC affiliate: The broadcast station that carries ABC network shows, local news and programming. It may come through an antenna, cable, satellite or a live-TV streaming service.
- ABC News Live: A national, internet-streamed news channel available through Samsung TV Plus. It is not the local ABC station or its full schedule.
- ABC-branded library programming: Samsung TV Plus may offer themed channels or programming such as ABC 20/20, depending on its current lineup. That does not establish access to the live local affiliate. Samsung TV Plus
Where to find ABC by viewing method

Find your local ABC station with an antenna
An antenna receives the local broadcast signal through the Samsung TV’s tuner. The station may appear under a virtual channel such as 5.1 or 7.1, but the number depends on the market. Samsung says its tuner can scan and automatically program available local channels; menu names vary by model and software. See Samsung’s channel-scan instructions.

- Connect the antenna cable to the TV’s ANT IN or RF IN port.
- Select the TV or broadcast input, rather than an HDMI input connected to another device.
- Open Settings, then Broadcasting or Channels.
- Choose Auto Program, Auto Tuning or Auto Scan.
- Select Air or Antenna (or the appropriate air-and-cable option), then let the scan finish.
- Open the channel list or guide and look for your local ABC affiliate.
The familiar virtual channel number does not necessarily match the station’s physical broadcast frequency. If the station changes frequencies but keeps its virtual channel, rescan rather than searching only for the old frequency.

What to do if the antenna scan does not find ABC
Reception depends on distance from transmitters, terrain, buildings, antenna placement, frequency band and local station conditions. An antenna scan cannot guarantee that ABC will be receivable at every address.
- Check that the coax connector is secure and the TV is scanning Air or Antenna, not cable.
- Move or rotate the antenna, then run the scan again. A location lookup for broadcast reception can help assess local options before buying a more expensive antenna.
- If reception is weak, consider whether an attic, outdoor or amplified antenna is suitable. Some flat indoor antennas have difficulty receiving VHF stations.
- Confirm that the TV is scanning for the correct market. Check the local ABC affiliate’s website for transmitter work or frequency changes.
- If a cable box is connected, tune ABC through the box and its guide; the Samsung tuner will not scan channels delivered by that box.
Find ABC News Live on Samsung TV Plus
- Press Home on the Samsung remote.
- Open Samsung TV Plus or select its tile.
- Open the channel guide and search for ABC News Live.
- For the U.S. lineup dated May 22, 2024, try channel 1112. If that number does not work, search by channel name because lineups can change.
Samsung’s U.S. channel list effective May 22, 2024 placed ABC News Live at 1112. An earlier Samsung announcement listed it at 1007, illustrating why 1112 should not be treated as a permanent number. Samsung TV Plus is internet-delivered, and availability can depend on device and region; Samsung says the service is available on its Smart TVs released after 2016, subject to availability. Can Samsung TV Plus show the regular ABC network?
Do not assume Samsung TV Plus includes your live local ABC affiliate. ABC News Live is a national streaming news service, while local ABC stations carry local news and the network’s broader schedule. ABC-branded or library channels may be available in the TV Plus catalog, but their presence is not proof of a live local ABC feed.

Live-TV streaming services
Services such as Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, YouTube TV and DIRECTV STREAM may carry ABC affiliates in selected markets. Check the service’s current lineup using your ZIP code before subscribing. Fubo says local ABC carriage varies by market; see its local-station availability guidance. ABC is listed among the networks on Hulu + Live TV, but that does not establish carriage of every local affiliate.
On-demand programs and the former ABC app
The standalone ABC app ended on connected TVs on September 23, 2024. ABC’s notice directed viewers to ABC.com, Hulu for many on-demand programs, and ESPN for certain live sports. See ABC’s app-change notice. The old app is not a current route to ABC on a connected TV.

Why a channel number may not work
- You entered 1112 in the wrong guide: That number was for ABC News Live on a dated Samsung TV Plus U.S. lineup, not for antenna, cable or satellite ABC.
- You are looking for a local station on TV Plus: Search for ABC News Live or check the current catalog; it is not the same as the local affiliate.
- Your TV Plus lineup differs: Channel numbering and availability may change by lineup date, device or market. Search by channel name.
- Your antenna channels are missing: Confirm the broadcast input and antenna setting, then rescan after adjusting the antenna.
- Your provider does not list the local affiliate: Check the provider’s ZIP-code lineup or contact it about local carriage.
- The app or service is unavailable on your TV: Compatibility varies by model and app support. A compatible external streaming device may be another way to use a supported service.
