In January 2025, Brilliant Minds creator, executive producer, and showrunner Michael Grassi was hopeful about a second season, but NBC had not renewed the series yet. He later outlined several story directions for Season 2, which NBC renewed in May 2025. The series ultimately ended after two seasons, with NBC canceling it in 2026.
What Michael Grassi said before Season 2 was confirmed
A January 7, 2025, ScreenRant report summarized Grassi’s comments in an interview with TheWrap. At the time, he said he had not heard a renewal decision and hoped the show would return. That was an expression of optimism, not an announcement that NBC had ordered another season. ScreenRant’s syndicated report

The Season 2 story directions Grassi described
In a later interview, Grassi discussed storylines and themes he wanted to explore in Season 2. These were plans for the season, not a guarantee that every thread would be resolved on screen.

Peacock’s official page stated that it streamed episodes the day after their NBC broadcast; that detail does not establish whether the show is currently available on the service.
