The couple recorded the episode while they were having a disagreement. Robach described feeling disconnected and wanting Holmes to confide in her. Holmes said that when he felt very bad or became quiet, he did not want to explain what he needed in that moment. They apologized after discussing the conflict. What pressure did Robach say she felt?
Robach distinguished relationship pressure from career pressure. She said she did not feel public pressure to stay with Holmes; instead, she felt pressure about their careers, which she believed had been unfairly taken from them, and wanted to work again with him. That was Robach’s assessment of their situation, not an independently established account of why they left ABC.

In January 2023, an ABC News spokesperson said that, after discussions about options, the parties agreed it was best for Robach and Holmes to move on from the network. Entertainment Tonight reported the spokesperson’s statement; it did not specify the reasons behind the decision.
Were Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes still together?
In a January 24, 2024 follow-up, the pair said they were still together and wanted to show different sides of their relationship, according to TV Insider. That report establishes what they said at that time, not their relationship status in 2026.
