No. The track that reached Brazilian radio in 2025 was a fan-made AI song called “Boom Boom,” not an official Anitta and Shakira release. The station reportedly learned that only after listeners had requested it and it had entered the station’s ranking. The artists later released a separate, official collaboration, “Choka Choka,” in April 2026.
What was the viral Anitta and Shakira song called?
It was called “Boom Boom.” In a report published on 20 May 2025, Brazilian entertainment outlet POPLine described it as an AI-generated, Spanish-language reggaeton using vocals of Anitta and Shakira. It was presented online as though the two artists had collaborated, but it was not an official release by them.

“O hit viralizou nas redes, foi super pedido pelos ouvintes da rádio e estreou direto na 9ª posição do ranking! Só depois a gente descobriu que não era um feat de verdade… Mas já era tarde: vocês já tinham se apaixonado pela batida!”
The station’s quoted post says the song debuted at number 9 in its ranking and that staff discovered afterward that it was not a real collaboration. Did Anitta and Shakira actually collaborate?
Yes—but not on “Boom Boom.” Anitta and Shakira later released “Choka Choka,” an official collaboration. Gshow reported that it arrived on digital platforms on 9 April 2026 as the first single from Anitta’s album EQUILIBRIVM. The song mixes Portuguese, English, and Spanish, according to Gshow’s report on the release.
Gshow quoted Anitta describing “Choka Choka” as part of her new album and saying that having Shakira sing with her made it especially iconic and special. That official release is distinct from the fan-made track that prompted the 2025 radio story.
