In a YouGov survey of people who watched at least some of the show, 15% chose “Disappointing” as one description, while 70% rated the performance excellent or good on a separate question. Those answers capture different reactions, and neither tells us why any particular viewer felt let down.
How many viewers called the show disappointing?
In a YouGov survey conducted February 9–11, 2026, among 1,063 U.S. adult citizens, 555 respondents said they had watched at least some of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show. In a question allowing multiple descriptions, 15% of those viewers selected “Disappointing.” The same respondents could select other words: 62% chose “Entertaining,” 50% “Impressive,” 47% “Memorable,” 20% “Controversial,” and 10% “Boring.” Because respondents could choose more than one description, these figures are not opposing camps and do not add up to 100%. How did viewers rate the performance overall?
YouGov asked viewers to give the finished performance a separate rating. Among the 555 viewers, 41% rated it excellent and 29% good; 12% chose fair, 7% poor, and 11% terrible. In other words, 70% gave it one of the two positive ratings, while 18% chose one of the two negative ratings. The survey’s comparison question also found that 17% called it the best Super Bowl halftime show they had seen, 41% above average, 22% about average, 9% below average, and 10% the worst. These are respondents’ judgments relative to shows they had seen, not an objective ranking. YouGov survey results.
Why do different polls seem to disagree?
They asked different questions of different groups at different times. A separate YouGov daily survey, conducted February 6 among 7,305 U.S. adults, asked whether people were satisfied with Bad Bunny performing at halftime. At that point, 35% said they were very or somewhat satisfied, 26% very or somewhat dissatisfied, 34% did not care, and 6% were unsure. That poll preceded the completed show and measured views about the performer’s selection—not reactions from people who had watched the performance. YouGov’s February 6 results.

A separate Mercury Analytics omnibus survey of 1,115 U.S. adults, conducted February 11, found that 34% expressed positive feelings about celebrating Latino culture, 22% described the show as un-American or unsuited to the Super Bowl stage, and 45% had little or no strong opinion. Its question wording and respondent group differ from YouGov’s, so these results should not be combined into a single measure of approval. Mercury Analytics’ survey release.
What audience size and streaming figures can—and cannot—tell us
The halftime window averaged 128.2 million U.S. viewers between 8:15 and 8:30 p.m. Eastern, according to Nielsen figures reported by the Associated Press. That placed the performance fourth among halftime audiences compared in the AP report. Audience size measures reach, not whether viewers liked the show. Associated Press report.
Apple, the event’s music-platform sponsor, said Apple Music listens for Bad Bunny rose sevenfold immediately after the performance. The company identified “DtMF,” “BAILE INoLVIDABLE,” and “Tití Me Preguntó” as the most-streamed songs immediately afterward. That is a report of activity on Apple Music, not a survey of audience satisfaction. Apple’s newsroom report.

Why did the performance mean different things to different people?
Associated Press reporting described the sequence in which Bad Bunny said “God bless America” and then named countries across the continent as both wordplay and a statement. The AP also reported that some fans in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Latino communities in the United States experienced the performance as a moment of pride and recognition. Those accounts describe some audience interpretations; they do not establish a universal reaction or prove what the show’s creators intended. Associated Press reporting on the performance.
What the figures leave unanswered
The surveys establish that some viewers found the show disappointing and that most surveyed viewers rated it positively overall. They do not explain an individual viewer’s reaction. The title gives no detail about what its speaker expected or disliked, so it would be speculation to attribute that disappointment to a particular song, language, political view, or production choice.
