Where can you watch The Odyssey footage?
For legitimate online viewing, open odysseymovie.com and select Watch Trailer. The site’s video is official trailer material, not necessarily the short teaser shown in cinemas in 2025.
You can also watch Universal’s official uploads directly:

- Official trailer, published December 22, 2025.
- Official new trailer, published May 4, 2026.
These are the safest sources because they are hosted by the official film site or Universal Pictures’ verified YouTube channel.
The teaser and the trailers are different videos
Search results often use “teaser” and “trailer” interchangeably, which creates much of the confusion. There are three separate pieces of footage:
| Footage | Status | Legitimate viewing option |
|---|---|---|
| First teaser, approximately 70 seconds | Theatrical-only preview | Originally shown in cinemas; no official online upload has been verified |
| Official trailer | Released online in December 2025 | Universal’s official YouTube upload |
| Official new trailer | Released online in May 2026 | Universal’s official YouTube upload |
Why is the original teaser difficult to find?
The first preview was part of Universal’s theatrical marketing campaign. It began playing before screenings of Jurassic World Rebirth in July 2025, roughly a year before Nolan’s film reached theaters.

- The disk has English audio.
Reports from ScreenDaily and Variety said that recordings soon appeared on platforms including X and TikTok before being removed. Those recordings and later reuploads are not official releases.
As of August 16, 2026, no official online upload of that original teaser has been verified. A video labelled “official teaser” is not automatically genuine: check whether it comes from Universal Pictures, the official movie site, or another verified studio source.
What did the original teaser show?
Trade reports described the roughly 70-second theatrical preview as atmospheric and mysterious rather than a conventional, plot-heavy trailer. Reported elements included:

![Ocean Odyssey: The Blue Realm [Blu-ray]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/5111WGGMpaL._SL160_.jpg)
- Factory sealed DVD
- Matt Damon as Odysseus.
- Tom Holland as Telemachus.
- Jon Bernthal in a role reported as Menelaus.
- A “one year from now” message pointing to the film’s July 17, 2026 release.
These descriptions come from reporting about the theatrical preview. They should not be treated as a reason to seek out unauthorized auditorium recordings, whose image, sound, and edits may be incomplete or misleading.
What do the official trailers reveal?
The online trailers present The Odyssey as Christopher Nolan’s mythic action epic based on Homer’s foundational saga. They feature Matt Damon as Odysseus and establish the film’s enormous scale, practical spectacle, and emphasis on IMAX presentation.
The principal cast includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron. NBCUniversal’s description of the newer trailer identifies footage involving Damon’s Odysseus and Theron’s Calypso, along with Trojan Horse imagery and large-scale battle scenes. Can you watch the full movie now?
The Odyssey is no longer an upcoming film: it opened theatrically on July 17, 2026. The film was released broadly, with IMAX and selected IMAX 70mm engagements rather than being limited exclusively to IMAX.
For current screenings, start with the official film website, Universal Pictures’ movie page, or IMAX’s official listings. IMAX 70mm locations are limited, and showtimes vary by country, venue, and remaining availability.
Home-viewing availability is territory-dependent. The supplied official pages do not establish one universal streaming service, rental price, or purchase date, so check Universal’s movie page for the current options in your country rather than relying on an old search result or an unverified listing.
How to avoid fake or unauthorized copies
- Use official sources: the film website, Universal Pictures’ verified YouTube channel, Universal’s official movie page, or legitimate cinema listings.
- Do not treat a theater recording as an official upload: phone recordings from auditoriums are unauthorized, even when the footage is real.
- Check the label carefully: the 2025 teaser, December 2025 trailer, and May 2026 new trailer are separate releases.
- Be cautious with download links: file-sharing, piracy, and social-media reuploads may be removed, altered, or unsafe.
The clearest answer
If you mean the short teaser first shown before Jurassic World Rebirth, there is still no verified official online version to watch. If you simply want official The Odyssey footage, use the trailer links above or the Watch Trailer option on the official movie site. For the complete film, consult current theater or territory-specific home-viewing listings.
