Verizon’s $10-a-month YouTube Premium offer was real, but it was the launch price in 2024—not the current rate. As of August 18, 2026, Verizon lists the perk at $12 per month, with advertised savings of $3.99 a month versus the comparable direct subscription. The perk is for eligible Verizon customers, and adding it through Verizon is only the first step: you must also activate it with a Google Account on YouTube.
What Verizon announced in 2024
Verizon announced the YouTube Premium perk on May 28, 2024, and said it would become available May 30. The introductory price was $10 a month, described at the time as a 30% discount from YouTube Premium’s then-current individual price. It was added to Verizon’s myPlan perks, initially with mobile customers in focus. Verizon’s announcement remains useful for understanding the launch, but its $10 price is historical.

Verizon now lists the perk for $12 a month. Its current page advertises $3.99 in monthly savings, implying a comparable direct-service price of $15.99. A reported customer notice said the increase from $10 to $12 took effect May 13, 2026; the current Verizon listing confirms the $12 price. Taxes and fees may apply.

What the perk includes
This is YouTube Premium, not YouTube TV. Premium removes ads from eligible YouTube and YouTube Kids videos, supports offline video downloads and background playback, and includes YouTube Music Premium, with ad-free music listening and access to its music catalog. Benefits follow the Google Account used during activation and can be used on compatible phones, browsers, smart TVs, streaming devices and game consoles. YouTube TV is a separate live-TV service and is not included in this perk.
Who can get it now?
Verizon’s current terms list qualifying mobile plans including Simplicity, Unlimited Ultimate, Unlimited Plus and Unlimited Welcome. Some customers on older plans, including Welcome Unlimited and Unlimited Ultimate 1.0, may remain eligible even though those plans are no longer open to new additions.

Eligible home-internet categories include 5G Home, 5G Home Plus, 5G Home Ultimate, LTE Home, LTE Home Plus, Verizon Home Internet Lite and Home Internet Lite Extra, plus eligible Fios Home Internet plans. Fios Classic Standalone is excluded. New LTE Home sign-ups are no longer available, although existing customers may still qualify.
- One perk may be added per eligible mobile line.
- One may be added per eligible Verizon wireless home-internet line.
- One may be added per eligible Fios account.
Terms restrict eligibility to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington, D.C., who are at least 18 and have a qualifying Verizon service. Plan names and eligibility can be confusing, so do not assume that every account described as myPlan qualifies. Check the offer shown in your account and review the current legal terms.
How to add and activate the perk
- Sign in to the My Verizon app or Verizon’s website.
- Open Services & Perks or Manage Perks and select YouTube Premium if it is available for your account.
- Review and confirm the recurring monthly charge.
- Follow Verizon’s separate activation instructions and complete the process on YouTube.
- Sign in to the Google Account you want to use for Premium. Use that account on your supported devices.
Adding the perk in My Verizon does not, by itself, complete YouTube activation. If an activation link fails, check that you are signed in to the intended personal Google Account; a managed Workspace account may not work. YouTube provides sign-up troubleshooting.

Already paying for YouTube Premium?
Before enrolling through Verizon, check how your existing YouTube Premium subscription is billed and which Google Account it uses. A direct or third-party subscription may need to be canceled or otherwise handled before you activate the Verizon perk. If you leave both arrangements running, you risk duplicate billing or activating Premium on the wrong account. Verizon’s current FAQ explains the process; the right steps depend on the existing subscription.

How billing and cancellation work
The perk is recurring until canceled. Mobile and eligible 5G/LTE Home charges appear on the Verizon mobile bill; eligible Fios charges appear on the Fios bill. The account owner or an account manager generally controls adding and removing perks, though someone on the account may be able to complete activation once it is added.
If you switch from one qualifying Verizon plan to another, Verizon says the perk can remain in place. If you cancel the qualifying service or move to a plan that does not qualify, Premium access continues through the paid period and then the Verizon perk ends. Verizon says it does not refund the perk charge for a partial period. A YouTube subscription you previously had may resume billing its former payment method, so check your Google subscription settings after a Verizon change.

Is the Verizon price worth it?
At the current listed prices, $12 a month instead of the implied $15.99 direct individual price saves $3.99 monthly, or about $47.88 over a year before taxes and price changes. At launch, the $10 rate was also $3.99 below the then-current direct price of $13.99. The dollar saving was similar; the advertised Verizon price rose.
The Verizon option makes the most sense if you already have an eligible plan, want the individual Premium experience, value putting the charge on your Verizon bill and expect to keep the qualifying service. The discount is modest, so upgrading or changing a Verizon plan solely to get this perk is unlikely to make sense.

Buying directly from YouTube may suit you better if you might leave Verizon, want direct control of your subscription, or need a Family, Two-person, Student or annual membership option. Verizon’s perk should not be assumed to include family-group pricing or to replace every YouTube membership type. Compare the available structures on YouTube’s membership page.

If the perk does not appear in My Verizon, the account or plan may not qualify, or the offer may not be available to it. Check the account’s plan and the current terms before changing service. Availability, eligibility, taxes and fees can vary, and Verizon’s displayed offer is the practical check for your account.

No. It is YouTube Premium, which includes YouTube Music Premium benefits. YouTube TV is a separate service.

Do not assume so. The Verizon perk is not presented as a Family plan; check YouTube’s available membership options if you need multiple household members covered.
Can I cancel the Verizon perk?
The perk is recurring until canceled. Check Services & Perks or Manage Perks in My Verizon for account controls and current cancellation details.
Why can’t I see the perk in My Verizon?
Your plan or account may not qualify, or the offer may not be available to it. Review Verizon’s current terms and check with Verizon if your account details appear to meet them.
