The clip imitated a Fox News segment, but Fox News said it never aired on any of its platforms. The episode does not establish whether Trump recognized the video as fake when he shared it.
What was in the video?
Reporting by Futurism and The Verge says Trump’s late-evening Truth Social post featured an AI-generated version of Lara Trump announcing a purported new healthcare system built around “medbeds.” An AI-generated Trump then promoted a medbed card and hospitals. In the fake Trump character’s words, “Every American will soon receive their own medbed card.” That line was fabricated video dialogue, not a real policy announcement.
The clip was presented in the style of a Fox News report. Fox News told The Verge that the segment “never aired on Fox News Channel or any other Fox News Media platforms.” Futurism reported that Trump’s post was deleted hours after it appeared.
What are “medbeds”?
In conspiracy narratives, medbeds are imagined medical devices said to cure diseases, regenerate limbs, or reverse aging. McGill University’s Office for Science and Society describes those all-purpose healing claims as fictitious. Its explainer also warns that some sellers use medbed language to promote pseudoscientific interventions or collect registration fees for access to a supposed future service.

A device’s registration or authorization, by itself, does not show that it works, McGill notes. The video’s claims should therefore not be mistaken for an established medical treatment or a government healthcare program. The Verge connects the medbed narrative with QAnon-related conspiracy circles, but the reporting cited here does not establish how widespread belief in it is.
Does the deleted post show Trump was confused?
No conclusion about Trump’s state of mind follows from the available reporting. The reports establish that he shared the clip and later removed it; they do not establish whether he believed it was authentic, knew it was fabricated, or had another reason for sharing it.

Futurism quoted journalist Aaron Rupar asking whether Trump was “so confused that he thought it was a real video of him talking.” That is a commentator’s question, not evidence of what Trump thought or a basis for diagnosing him. Similarly, reactions quoted in coverage—including ethnographer and conspiracy-theory researcher Noelle Cook’s question about how people can return to a shared reality—are commentary on the episode, not proof of motive.
