Why did Trump dance in Malaysia?
The dance was part of a cultural welcome at KLIA’s Bunga Raya Complex, not a separate summit event. Malaysia’s Prime Minister’s Office described it as a cultural performance reflecting Malaysian arts and heritage. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed Trump; Bernama reported that Anwar briefly joined the dance as well.
After the airport welcome, the party continued to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) for the summit agenda. Trump was in Malaysia for the 47th ASEAN Summit.
What song was Trump dancing to in Kuala Lumpur?
Contemporary accounts differ. Malay Mail described the dance as taking place to the Hawaii Five-O theme, while Bernama called the music a zapin melody. On October 27, 2025, Malay Mail reported 37.9 million views across platforms, attributing the figure to numbers shared by Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz. Treat that as a reported snapshot from that date, not a current view total. The Star also reported 37.9 million that day, citing the same adviser’s account, so its matching figure is not an independent measurement.
When did Trump arrive in Kuala Lumpur?
Malaysian official and local sources date the arrival welcome to October 26, 2025. The White House gallery’s caption for a photograph of Trump dancing gives October 25, a one-day discrepancy. Malaysia’s Prime Minister’s Office published Anwar’s welcome post on October 26, placing it at the Bunga Raya Complex at KLIA.
