The best Netflix releases in the U.S. from August 10–16, 2026, range from a six-episode adult sitcom to a three-part football documentary and two international dramas. Our five editorial picks are Tires: Season 3, Mourinho, My Brilliant Career, Moria, and What’s Eating Dan?. A children’s animated series, Dr. Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish: Season 3, gets a separate family bonus slot.
For the U.S. Netflix release window of August 10–16, 2026, the best bets are Tires: Season 3, Mourinho, My Brilliant Career, Moria, and What’s Eating Dan?. Together, they cover a fast adult sitcom, a compact football documentary, two international character dramas, and an accessible food-science series. These are editorial recommendations—not an official Netflix ranking.
One important qualification: Netflix’s latest published U.S. weekly Top 10 available for this research covers August 3–9, so it cannot establish which of the August 10–16 releases will be most watched. Release timing and catalog availability can also vary outside the United States.
1. Tires: Season 3 — the easiest adult binge
Arrives: August 13, 2026
Format: Six-episode, TV-MA workplace sitcom

Will is trying to improve sales and keep his family’s struggling Valley Forge auto shop alive. His biggest management problem may be his cousin Shane, whose disruptive behavior repeatedly makes an already difficult business harder to run.
That failing-family-business setup gives Tires a more distinctive engine than a generic workplace comedy. Season 3’s episode descriptions point to an inclusion initiative, sales pressure, marketing problems, a rumor crisis, and questions about the shop’s future. The short episode length also makes this the week’s simplest series to sample: viewers can decide quickly whether its abrasive style works for them.
Why watch: It is the clearest mainstream comedy choice of the week, particularly for fans of Shane Gillis, deadpan workplace friction, and quick episodes.
Skip it if: You dislike raunchy, irreverent, or deliberately abrasive humor. Netflix labels the series TV-MA, and its tone is not designed as a broadly family-friendly sitcom.
2. Mourinho — a three-part portrait of football’s most contradictory managers
Arrives: August 11, 2026
Format: Three-part limited sports-documentary series
This series follows José Mourinho’s rise from Champions League success with FC Porto through managerial spells at Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid. Netflix says the project was filmed over two years and includes access to Mourinho alongside interviews with major football figures including Sir Alex Ferguson, John Terry, Iker Casillas, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Didier Drogba.
The appeal is not just the trophy list. Mourinho’s career combines extraordinary success with a controversial public persona, making the documentary a natural study in leadership, rivalry, celebrity, and self-presentation. Its three-episode structure is especially attractive to sports-documentary viewers who want a complete, manageable story rather than a sprawling season.

It is best approached as a portrait of Mourinho’s career and public image, not as an independently verified final verdict on his legacy. The access and interview lineup provide the ingredients for a substantial account, but viewers should still expect the series to have its own framing and point of view.

3. My Brilliant Career — the literary hidden gem
Arrives: August 13, 2026
Format: Six-episode Australian period drama
Set in Australia in 1900, Netflix’s new series follows Sybylla, a modern-minded young woman who dreams of becoming a writer while her family expects her to pursue marriage. Her ambitions become more complicated when she falls in love.

It is aimed at viewers who want a character-led story about a woman negotiating the limits imposed by her family and society, rather than another franchise installment or mystery built around a twist.
Philippa Northeast plays Sybylla. Netflix Media Center identifies Alyssa McClelland and Anne Renton as directors across the episodes.

Important title note: This is the 2026 series adaptation of Miles Franklin’s novel, not the 1979 film starring Judy Davis and Sam Neill. Searching for the title may produce both versions, so look specifically for Netflix’s new series.
Why watch: It is the strongest choice this week for period-drama fans, adaptation readers, and viewers drawn to ambitious female protagonists and social themes.
Skip it if: You are looking for a fast thriller or a plot-first binge with little interest in literary or historical drama.
Want to read the source material alongside the adaptation? Miles Franklin’s My Brilliant Career is the natural companion, though the book should be treated as a source for the series rather than a substitute for it.
4. Moria — an unusually theatrical international biography
Arrives: August 14, 2026
Format: Argentine fictionalized biographical drama
Moria centers on Argentine performer Moria Casán and presents a fictionalized version of her story as she celebrates her 80th birthday. Rather than treating the subject as a straightforward factual biography, the series uses a deliberately theatrical frame to explore her career, reinvention, and place in Argentine popular culture.
Three actresses—Sofía Gala Castiglione, Griselda Siciliani, and Cecilia Roth—portray Moria at different stages of her life. That casting concept is one of the show’s defining attractions: the series can move through a public figure’s changing identities while acknowledging the performance involved in celebrity itself.

This is the most distinctive international pick in the window. It offers something different from an English-language crime series or conventional music-industry rise-and-fall story, especially for viewers interested in Latin American drama, show-business history, and stylized biographies.
Why watch: It is a strong fit for audiences who want a theatrical, self-aware celebrity story rooted in Argentine entertainment culture.
Skip it if: You prefer documentaries or literal biographies. Moria is a fictionalized drama, not a documentary and not a strict record of events.
5. What’s Eating Dan? — the practical food-science pick
Listed arrival: August 11, 2026
Format: Season 1 food-and-travel docuseries
Food-science communicator Dan Souza explores why familiar foods behave the way they do and tests common culinary assumptions. The premise makes this a lighter alternative to the week’s scripted dramas and a useful choice for home cooks who enjoy explanations as much as recipes.
This recommendation comes with a higher availability caveat than the other four. Release-calendar reporting lists What’s Eating Dan? as arriving on Netflix in the United States on August 11, but the research did not locate an indexed Netflix title page or Netflix Media Center entry. The underlying food-science premise is associated with America’s Test Kitchen and public-broadcasting references, but Netflix original status, exact episode count, and precise U.S. licensing details should be reconfirmed before publication or viewing.
Why watch: It is the best low-profile option for curious cooks, food-science fans, and viewers who want something informative without committing to a dark drama.

Arrived: August 10, 2026
Format: Children’s animated series
For families, the most relevant addition to the week is Dr. Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish: Season 3. The series follows Red and Blue through gentle stories about opposites, animals, teamwork, and everyday situations. It is based on Dr. Seuss’s book and is better viewed as a children’s alternative than as a sixth adult recommendation.
