The official film description presents the final conflict surrounding Eren’s Rumbling and the former allies and enemies who join forces to stop him. The theatrical version runs approximately 145 minutes, or two hours and 25 minutes, and includes refined picture cuts and 5.1-channel surround sound. Crunchyroll’s 2026 Anime Nights event promoted a new 4K version for its theatrical re-release.
The principal creative team includes director Yuichiro Hayashi, series composer and screenwriter Hiroshi Seko, character designer Tomohiro Kishi, and composers Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano. MAPPA produced the final season material.
Should you watch the series first?
Yes. The movie assumes that you have followed the story through Attack on Titan Final Season. It is not an introductory film and does not recap the franchise in a way designed for new viewers.

- The original television route: watch Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Special 1 and Special 2.
- The theatrical route: watch Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK, which consolidates that finale material into a feature.
Do not watch both unless you specifically want to compare the presentation. The movie is not a post-finale continuation; it repackages the anime’s concluding material with theatrical refinements.
Streaming versus owning the finale
If you would rather keep a physical copy, look for the Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Blu-ray. This is a physical-media release of the underlying finale specials and is a useful offline alternative, but it should not be described as the identical theatrical compilation unless the individual product listing explicitly says that it contains THE LAST ATTACK.

International licensing is handled territory by territory. If you are outside the U.S., search the exact title in your local Crunchyroll, Prime Video, and cinema interfaces. A service carrying the film in Japan, Canada, or another market may not carry it in your country.
