The offer varied by plan: one included Disney+ for a 12-month promotional period, while others offered a choice of streaming benefit or the two-service Combo+. These are the original launch terms, not confirmation that the same plans or benefits remain available today.
What TIM announced
TIM partnered with The Walt Disney Company Brasil to add streaming benefits to selected postpaid plans in Brazil. The announcement was made on April 25, 2023, during TIM’s Mother’s Day retail campaign. It was not a universal benefit for every TIM customer: eligibility and the type of benefit depended on the plan. TIM’s launch announcement lists the plans and terms.
Which TIM plans had Disney+ or Star+?

The prices and benefits above are those in TIM’s April 2023 announcement. They should not be treated as current plan pricing or availability.
Was Disney+ free?
For TIM Black 20GB, TIM described Disney+ as included at no additional charge for 12 months under the promotion. That wording does not mean the mobile plan itself was free, nor does it establish what happened after the promotional period. Customers needed to check the applicable plan regulation for renewal, billing and cancellation conditions.

On other plans, Disney+ was one of the benefits a customer could select. The announcement does not establish that every eligible customer received it automatically or that the same terms applied across plans.
What was the difference between Disney+ and Star+?
At the time of the TIM offer, the services were separate platforms with different catalogs. The descriptions and titles below reflect launch-period positioning; streaming catalogs can change.

Disney described Star+ as complementary to, but independent from, Disney+ when it announced the service’s Latin American launch for August 31, 2021. Disney Brasil’s announcement explains that launch context.

What did Combo+ mean?
Combo+ was a commercial package that brought Disney+ and Star+ together. It did not mean the two catalogs became one service or one app: in Latin America at the time, the platforms remained independent. TIM listed Combo+ as a selectable benefit on the 60GB, 100GB and 180GB TIM Black Família plans.
How to activate a current Disney+ benefit through TIM
The 2023 press release does not provide a complete activation walkthrough, so its original process should not be inferred from current instructions. TIM’s current support information describes activation through its digital channels, including Meu TIM. For a present-day benefit:
- Confirm that your specific TIM plan currently includes Disney+ and check the benefit’s terms.
- Open Meu TIM or use the activation link TIM provides for your plan.
- Follow the registration or account-linking steps, using your TIM line as requested.
- If you already have a Disney+ account, use that account during activation when eligible rather than creating a duplicate subscription.
- Check that the benefit is active and review which company is handling billing.
- If Disney+ continues to charge you directly after linking, contact TIM and check your Disney+ billing details before assuming the benefit replaced the direct subscription.
TIM’s Disney+ support page describes current eligibility and activation information. The steps and terms may differ from those in 2023.

What if you already pay Disney+ directly?
TIM’s current FAQ says an existing Disney+ account can be used when activating an included benefit. Follow the account-linking flow and verify that direct billing has stopped or changed as intended. Canceling a direct subscription before confirming the link could interrupt access; failing to link the account could leave both direct and TIM-related billing in place.

The original plan terms date to April 2023, and TIM’s current pages emphasize Disney+ rather than the 2023 Star+ bundle. As listed on TIM’s support page on August 18, 2026, customers purchasing Disney+ separately through TIM were shown prices of R$43.90 per month for Standard and R$62.90 per month for Premium. TIM listed eligibility by current plan category, including TIM Controle Premium, TIM Black, TIM Black Plus, TIM Black Premium and specified TIM Black Família plans; eligibility and prices can change. Check the live terms before changing plans or subscribing.

TIM’s current Disney+ information is available at its support page and Disney+ product page. The 2023 announcement does not establish that Star+ or the original Combo+ benefit remains available now.

How to judge whether a TIM plan is worthwhile for streaming
Do not compare the 2023 TIM Black 20GB price with a current Disney+ subscription price as if they were simultaneous offers. For a plan you can buy now, compare the costs and terms that apply to you:
- Calculate the plan’s incremental monthly cost over a lower-priced TIM plan that meets your mobile needs.
- Compare that difference over the same period with the direct streaming subscription price and any promotional duration.
- Confirm whether the streaming benefit is permanent, selectable or time-limited, and which Disney+ tier it includes.
- Consider whether you will use the service’s catalog and, where relevant, sports programming.
- Check what happens to the benefit if you downgrade, cancel or move the line, and whether your state or sales channel affects eligibility.
- Include any existing streaming access, account-linking requirements and billing changes in the comparison.
A bundle is more compelling when the mobile plan already suits your needs and you would otherwise pay for the streaming service. Choosing a more expensive plan solely for a benefit you may not use can erase the apparent value.
