Official sources confirm several trailers for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, but they do not identify any of them as an episode 2 trailer or verify that one shows Michonne hunting for Rick Grimes. The series itself follows the separated couple’s efforts to find each other, played by Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln.
Is there an official episode 2 trailer?
Not in the official AMC material cited here. AMC announced a first series trailer on January 10, 2024, a “second new trailer” on January 25, and an “all-new trailer” on February 14. Those announcements describe trailers for the series, not an episode 2 preview. They do not establish the publication date or exact scenes of a video labeled “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Episode 2 Trailer.”
That distinction matters: a series trailer can draw on moments from across the show, while an episode preview is tied to a particular installment. Without an official episode-specific identification, it would be misleading to describe particular scenes as belonging to an episode 2 trailer.
What the series is about
The show reunites Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, and Michonne, played by Danai Gurira. AMC describes it as an “epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world.” Their separation and attempts to reconnect form the story’s emotional center.

- The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live - Season 1 - Steel Book [Blu-Ray]
Netflix’s January 13, 2025 series guide provides the backstory: Rick disappeared after the bridge incident in The Walking Dead season 9. Michonne later found clues suggesting he had survived and set out to search for him. Rick’s disappearance is also connected to the Civic Republic Military, part of the larger conflict described in the guide.
Official trailer announcements and release information
| Date | What AMC announced | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| January 10, 2024 | First trailer | AMC announced the first series trailer and a February 25, 2024 premiere on AMC and AMC+. |
| January 25, 2024 | “Second new trailer” | AMC described this as another trailer for the series and repeated the planned premiere date and platforms. |
| February 14, 2024 | “All-new trailer” | AMC announced another series trailer as part of its Valentine’s Day promotion. |
These announcements establish a trailer sequence, not an episode 2 trailer. AMC’s February 2024 premiere announcement is a historical platform detail, not a guarantee of current access. Netflix’s January 13, 2025 guide reported US streaming availability at that time; it does not establish present-day availability or access in other countries.
