Jordan Belfort’s two standout watches in the 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street are both TAG Heuers: a gold-plated Professional 1000 and a 2000 Exclusive WN5141 described as solid 18-karat gold with a diamond bezel. The distinction matters: the flashy Professional 1000 is not solid gold and is not a Rolex.
Which watches does Jordan Belfort wear?
The two prominent watches associated with Belfort’s rise and peak in the film are the TAG Heuer Professional 1000, reference 984.013B, and the TAG Heuer 2000 Exclusive, reference WN5141. They share a gold-toned look, but differ in construction and in how they are identified in accounts of the film’s props.

Hodinkee’s interview with prop master Robert R. Griffon Jr. says DiCaprio chose the Professional 1000 for Belfort. IMWDb’s film-prop entry identifies the production watch as reference 984.013B. WatchReel identifies the 2000 Exclusive WN5141 as the other prominent watch and describes its materials.
Is the gold TAG Heuer solid gold?
The Professional 1000 is gold-plated, not solid gold. Its appearance can invite comparisons to a more expensive gold Rolex, but it is a TAG Heuer, not a Rolex. The 2000 Exclusive WN5141 is the watch WatchReel describes as solid 18-karat gold, with a diamond bezel. The two should not be conflated just because both have a conspicuous gold look.

Why was the Professional 1000 chosen?
Hodinkee’s account of Griffon’s interview says DiCaprio selected the gold-plated Professional 1000 for Belfort. Its look suited the character’s conspicuous image while avoiding the assumption that the watch was a solid-gold Rolex. Griffon recalled how the watch options arrived: “One day a black town car showed up, a nice lady came out and handed me a bag full of watches.”
What about the other watches in the film?
The opening sequence also shows Belfort wearing a Seiko Solar. Mark Hanna, played by Matthew McConaughey, wears a two-tone Rolex Datejust. Those are separate appearances, not the two featured TAG Heuers associated with Belfort’s rise and peak. WatchReel gives the Seiko designation as SNE057, but the Hodinkee interview confirms only that it is a Seiko Solar.

What did the 2000 Exclusive reportedly cost?
WatchReel reports a historical production-era estimate of roughly $40,000 for the 2000 Exclusive WN5141, attributing the figure to prop master Robert R. Griffon Jr. That is an estimate tied to the film’s production, not a current market price or a valuation of any particular example.
