As of October 8, 2026, East of Eden leads JustWatch’s U.S. TV chart, followed by Lanterns, Ted Lasso and War. Netflix’s own weekly chart tells a different story: A Different World was its top show for September 28–October 4. “Top” depends on the chart, its audience and its time window—not a universal measure of quality.

JustWatch says its rankings draw on activity across the previous 24 hours, seven days or 30 days, including clicks on streaming offers, watchlist additions and marks that a title has been seen. The charts update daily across 140 countries and 4,500 services. This is a popularity signal based on those actions, not a rating of artistic merit. See the JustWatch U.S. TV chart and methodology.

How do Prime Video, Apple TV+ and other services compare?
A separate Reelgood snapshot covering September 24–30, 2026, combined films and TV in one Top 10. Its entries were Backrooms (HBO Max), Unabomber (Netflix), Monster (Netflix), The Love Hypothesis (Prime Video), Lanterns (HBO Max), MobLand (Paramount+), Toy Story 5 (Disney+), Neagley (Prime Video), Promising Young Woman (Peacock) and American Horror Story (Hulu). Because films and shows are mixed together, this is not a list of ten TV shows. Apple TV+ had no entry in that particular snapshot; that does not establish that it had no popular shows. Popularity of individual titles is also different from the breadth of a service’s popular catalog. Reelgood’s service breadth index, updated October 1, measured the average number of titles each service held across the U.S. Top 100 popular movies and Top 100 popular shows during August 24–September 24, 2026, then scaled the result from 0 to 10. Netflix ranked first at 9.88, with an average 34.6 titles in the U.S. Top 100; Prime Video ranked second at 9.15, with 32.0; Apple TV ranked tenth at 3.28, with 11.5. These figures describe Reelgood’s measured catalog breadth across popular movies and shows—not the quality of a service’s series, subscriber numbers or the availability of a particular title to every viewer. - Want to know what is drawing attention across services? Use a cross-platform chart such as JustWatch, and check its date, country and activity window.
- Want to know what is popular on one service? Use that service’s own chart. Netflix’s weekly list, for example, reflects a defined U.S. week rather than a cross-platform ranking.
- Choosing a service for its catalog? Treat breadth measures as a separate comparison from the rank of any one show.
- Looking for reviews rather than popularity? Rotten Tomatoes lets readers filter popular TV by service, genre, rating, critic score and audience score. It defines “Fresh” as at least 60% of reviews positive and “Hot” as at least 60% of user ratings positive; those labels measure reception, not chart activity. Browse Rotten Tomatoes TV filters.
Finally, check the title’s current streaming options for your country and plan before settling in. A service associated with a title on a chart may not be the service you can access, and both catalogs and rankings change.
