What is the story about?
Kaieda and the crew serve aboard Seabat, a submarine secretly developed by Japan and the United States. The story’s political and military crisis takes shape when Kaieda declares the vessel an independent Yamato, setting the crew and submarine against the governments and forces around them. This is the drama’s fictional premise; it should not be read as a factual account of a real submarine or historical naval confrontation.

How does Season One fit into the franchise?
The season is part of a continuing live-action adaptation project rather than a standalone documentary. The 2024 brochure frames the series as a continuation of the feature film.
