Where to check for a replay now
Start by searching Max for “The Showdown.” Max was the U.S. streaming destination reported for the original live event, but that does not guarantee the full match remains in its library. If it is not listed, check official TNT, truTV or Warner Bros. Discovery sports pages for archived coverage, then the PGA Tour and LIV Golf websites or YouTube channels for official highlights. A highlight package is not necessarily a full-match replay.
Do not buy a new live-TV subscription solely for this 2024 exhibition unless a current replay listing is confirmed first. If you already receive TNT through a participating TV provider, its authenticated streaming options may also be worth checking. Access requirements vary by provider and service.

What was The Showdown?
The Showdown was a made-for-TV exhibition: McIlroy and Scheffler played as the PGA Tour side against LIV Golf players DeChambeau and Koepka. It was not a sanctioned PGA Tour or LIV Golf League tournament, and should not be confused with either tour’s regular schedule. It was a rare direct team match built around the rivalry between the tours, rather than an official joint competition. Contemporary coverage reported a $10 million purse in Cronos cryptocurrency; that was an exhibition prize arrangement, not a standard tour-event purse.

How U.S. viewers watched live in 2024
- TNT: The primary U.S. television network reported for the event. Coverage also listed simulcasts on TBS and truTV. Cable and satellite viewers generally needed a participating provider that carried the channel; verify access with your provider. See truTV’s viewing requirements and its provider-authentication guidance.
- Max: The streaming service identified by contemporary U.S. guides as the online destination. Treat this as the original live-stream information, not confirmation of present-day replay access. Search the catalog before renewing or subscribing.
- Sling: A live-TV streaming alternative was promoted because relevant packages carried TNT, TBS and/or truTV. Sling’s lineup and package availability can change and may vary by market; check its current channel information and local availability. It may suit viewers who want ongoing live TV, but is poor value if the only goal is finding an old replay.
At the time, the U.S. start was listed as 6 p.m. Eastern / 3 p.m. Pacific on December 17, 2024. Those times are historical; there is no upcoming live broadcast.
UK and other international viewers
Contemporary listings pointed to TNT Sports in the UK, but The Showdown is over and current replay availability there is not confirmed. TNT Sports says HBO Max became its UK streaming home on March 26, 2026; that current arrangement does not establish that the 2024 event is in the service’s archive. Coverage in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other territories varied; contemporary reporting said the event was not broadcast in New Zealand. Check the local broadcaster or streaming service rather than relying on U.S. channel listings. U.S. services may be restricted by territory, and a VPN cannot guarantee access or create a local broadcast right.
Players and the unusual 18-hole format
The four players were Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler for the PGA Tour side, and Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka for the LIV Golf side. They played 18 holes split into three six-hole segments:

- Holes 1–6: Four-ball (best ball). Each player played their own ball. On each hole, the lower score from each team counted.
- Holes 7–12: Foursomes (alternate shot). Each team played one ball, with teammates taking turns hitting shots. This rewards coordination as well as individual play.
- Holes 13–18: Singles. The players competed individually in the closing segment, with results contributing to the overall team match.
Switching formats made the exhibition more than a conventional two-on-two round: it moved from counting the better of two scores, to alternating every shot, and finally to individual match play within the team contest.
