Why did the show change nights?
The first three Season 8 episodes aired on Tuesdays at 10/9c. TV Insider reported on January 14, 2026, that ABC announced a move to Mondays at 10/9c starting January 26. The report said the remaining 15 episodes would air without interruptions at that point in the schedule. The change was a shift in the weekly broadcast night, not a new premiere date.
Where could U.S. viewers watch it?
ABC’s May 12, 2026 schedule announcement said ABC original programming streams on Hulu the next day. That is a network-level statement about availability; it does not establish how long a particular Season 8 episode remains in the catalog or whether it is available under every Hulu plan. See ABC’s fall 2026 schedule announcement for the network’s wording.

When is the next season?
ABC’s May 12 announcement placed the next season of The Rookie in 2027, but did not give a premiere date. The network said dates would be announced later, so a specific day or month was not established in that update.
