There is no verified all-time ranking of WWE’s most muscular women: the available sources offer no comparable body-composition measurements or standardized strength tests across wrestlers and eras. A more useful comparison separates visible muscularity from billed size, documented athletic performances, powerhouse presentation and historical influence. Chyna, Beth Phoenix, Bianca Belair, Nia Jax and Rhea Ripley each stand out on different grounds.
How to compare muscularity across WWE eras
“Most muscular” is a visual judgment, not an established WWE statistic. A wrestler’s appearance can make muscularity evident to viewers, but it does not establish a body-composition figure. Likewise, billed height or a memorable display of strength does not prove who was strongest.

- Visible muscularity: How a wrestler appeared in her era, without guessing at body composition.
- Size and ring presentation: Billed measurements and the way WWE presented her power are related to, but distinct from, muscularity.
- Documented athletic evidence: Attributed results from a named event, kept in their original context rather than treated as a cross-era contest.
- Influence and accomplishments: Milestones and titles help explain historical importance, but do not measure physique.
These distinctions make a shortlist more informative than a definitive ranking the evidence cannot support.
Chyna: a defining historical powerhouse
Chyna is a foundational example because WWE’s account combines a distinctive powerful presentation with milestones few women had reached in the promotion. WWE credits her as the first woman to qualify for the King of the Ring tournament and a Royal Rumble Match, and the first woman to hold the Intercontinental Championship. Its profile calls her “The Ninth Wonder of the World,” describes her “Amazonian power,” and says she paved the way for later powerhouses including Beth Phoenix and Nia Jax. Those are WWE’s celebratory descriptions and historical framing, not measurements of muscle or strength. WWE’s Chyna profile records the milestones that make her central to the discussion.

Beth Phoenix: visible strength backed by memorable feats
Beth Phoenix’s case rests on both her prominent muscular look and specific displays of strength in the ring. WWE recounts that at Judgment Day 2008 she lifted Melina and then-Women’s Champion Mickie James over her shoulder at the same time. At the 2010 Royal Rumble, she eliminated the seven-foot Great Khali. WWE’s 2014 feature also reports three Women’s Championship reigns and a 204-day Divas Championship reign. The feats and title history document her powerhouse presentation; they are not a standardized strength test. WWE’s Beth Phoenix profile and its 2014 feature provide the career details.
Bianca Belair: unusually specific athletic results
Bianca Belair offers the clearest numerical athletic evidence among these examples. In a story published July 4, 2017, WWE reported that she had deadlifted 400 pounds using a trap bar and completed a 10-yard sprint in 2.07 seconds at the Performance Center Combine the previous year. WWE also identifies her as a former All-SEC and All-American track athlete. The combine numbers belong to one athlete at one event; they do not compare her with wrestlers from other periods or establish an all-time strength title. WWE’s report on Belair’s Performance Center Combine results supplies the event context.

Nia Jax: size and powerhouse presentation
WWE lists Nia Jax at six feet and presents her as a powerhouse. Height and larger size can shape how a wrestler’s presence reads in the ring, but neither is a measure of muscle mass. In a 2015 WWE interview, Jax described how her size had affected her expectations of a wrestling career: “I have always been a bigger girl, and I did not think that WWE would want a girl my size, so I never expressed my dream to wrestle.” She also said, “I want young girls to be inspired to love themselves and strive to follow their dreams no matter what.” These are her reflections from that interview, and help explain the representational importance she attached to her place in WWE. WWE’s 2015 interview with Jax gives her comments and WWE’s profile provides its billed description.
Rhea Ripley and Becky Lynch: different paths to a muscular presentation
Rhea Ripley
WWE describes Rhea Ripley as physically strong, while USA Network’s 2024 retrospective recounts how her presentation evolved as she grew more comfortable with it. Ripley credited Ruby Riott with inspiring her to bring that side of herself forward. The account is a useful reminder that ring presentation can change over a career; it does not supply a comparative physical measurement. USA Network’s retrospective on Ripley’s evolution recounts her comments.

Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch is a supporting example rather than an obvious all-time muscularity pick: a WWE feature reports that she competed in bodybuilding contests during a period away from wrestling. Lynch described her motivation simply: “I wanted to get fit.” That past experience adds context to her athletic background, but the available account does not frame her as a leading candidate in a muscularity ranking. WWE’s feature on Lynch reports the bodybuilding experience and quote.

Wrestling is performed through character, commentary and visual framing as well as physical action. A peer-reviewed analysis of WWE’s Evolution broadcast examined how commentary framed women through athletic toughness alongside conventional femininity. It is evidence about that broadcast, not a verdict on every WWE event or a measure of any wrestler’s physique. The analysis helps explain why audiences may interpret muscularity through more than what they see in the ring. The peer-reviewed analysis of WWE’s Evolution broadcast discusses those competing frames.
So who belongs on a muscularity shortlist?
For a historical pioneer and influential powerhouse, Chyna is essential. Beth Phoenix pairs a conspicuous muscular presentation with memorable strength feats and a substantial championship record. Bianca Belair has the most specific athletic results in the sources discussed here, though they are a single combine snapshot. Nia Jax represents size and powerhouse presentation, while Rhea Ripley illustrates a contemporary presentation shaped by personal evolution. Becky Lynch adds a different athletic-background example. Which woman looks “most muscular” remains a matter of visual judgment; no source establishes a definitive all-time winner or a verified strongest wrestler.
