The final season of Young Sheldon made its way to Max in the United States on October 17, 2024, after the one-hour CBS series finale aired on May 16, 2024. Season 7 was the show’s final season, so Max released the completed conclusion rather than a new continuation.
For viewers who missed the broadcast ending, the Max release provided a later subscription-streaming route to Season 7. Viewers who prefer ownership can buy the complete-series DVD, which includes all seven seasons and 141 episodes.
Key takeaways
- Young Sheldon’s final season began streaming on Max in the United States on October 17, 2024.
- CBS aired the one-hour series finale on May 16, 2024, so the Max release followed the broadcast conclusion by roughly five months.
- Season 7 is the seventh and final season; the Max release did not represent a renewal or continuation of the original series.
- Paramount+ was also identified by CBS as a streaming destination for the finale, although access depended on the subscriber’s plan and viewing method.
- The complete-series DVD includes all seven seasons and 141 episodes, making physical media the more durable option for viewers who do not want to rely on a streaming catalog.
When did the final season of Young Sheldon make its way to Max?
The final season of Young Sheldon made its way to Max in the United States on October 17, 2024, after the show’s one-hour CBS series finale aired on May 16, 2024. Max therefore received the completed seventh season as a post-broadcast streaming release, not as a simultaneous premiere with CBS.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement said that all of Season 7 would begin streaming exclusively on Max on October 17, 2024. The exact wording and date are important because the announcement described a U.S.-oriented Max release after the broadcast run had ended.

Why is Season 7 the final season of Young Sheldon?
Season 7 is the final season because CBS officially designated the seventh season as the conclusion of the series. CBS also scheduled a one-hour finale, which aired on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The season’s arrival on Max was consequently a way to stream the finished final chapter rather than evidence that CBS or Max had renewed the original series.
The chronology is straightforward:
| Event | Date | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| CBS identifies Season 7 as the final season | November 14, 2023 announcement | The seventh season was planned as the series conclusion. |
| One-hour series finale airs on CBS | May 16, 2024 | The broadcast story reaches its planned ending. |
| Complete Season 7 starts on Max | October 17, 2024 | Max becomes the later U.S. streaming destination for the completed final season. |
The season and finale details appear in CBS’s Season 7 announcement and its official series-finale notice.
Is Young Sheldon Season 7 still available on Max?
The October 17, 2024 announcement establishes when Season 7 arrived on Max, but streaming availability is not permanent. Max catalogs, subscription requirements, and regional rights can change after a title is announced. Viewers should check the current Max catalog in their country and confirm which plan, if any, includes Young Sheldon before subscribing specifically for the series.

Max’s programming information page is the appropriate place to check current service and catalog guidance for the United States. The researched release announcement should not be treated as a guarantee that every season remains available everywhere or that the access terms are unchanged.
What was the Paramount+ connection?
Paramount+ was identified by CBS as a streaming destination for the Young Sheldon finale, making it a separate viewing path from the later Max release. CBS’s finale materials stated that availability depended on the subscriber’s plan and viewing mode.
Paramount+ and Max should not be assumed to offer identical catalogs, seasons, or access terms. Paramount+ is relevant here as a CBS-linked option for the finale, while Max is the service tied to the October 17, 2024 release of the completed seventh season. Check the current, territory-specific listing before relying on either service.
