The $2.99-per-month Max deal was real, but it is over. The 2025 Black Friday promotion offered eligible new subscribers Max’s ad-supported plan for 12 months and expired on December 1, 2025. It cannot be claimed at that price now. This article was originally tied to a December 1, 2025 deal listing; the prices below are U.S. prices shown on Max’s help page on August 18, 2026.
What the $2.99 Max offer included
Android Headlines reported the promotion on December 1, 2025, the final day it was advertised. It offered the ad-supported Max plan for $2.99 per month for 12 months, compared with the $10.99 monthly regular price cited in that deal article. The promotion was described as being for new subscribers; that does not establish that every returning customer or existing account qualified. Read the original deal listing.

The $35.88 figure is simply 12 payments at the advertised promotional rate, before any applicable tax. The deal listing does not establish the exact renewal date, post-promotion price, or billing terms for each subscriber, so do not assume that the cited $10.99 regular price was necessarily the renewal price on an individual account.

What you could watch—and what the headline didn’t promise
The deal article promoted access to HBO programming, Max Originals, movies, and programming associated with brands including DC, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Discovery, Food Network, and HGTV. That explains the breadth of the service’s appeal, but it is not a guarantee that every title from those brands is available at once or will remain available. Streaming catalogs change as licensing and release windows change, and availability can vary by country.

For documentary viewers, the presence of Discovery-related programming and other nonfiction offerings may be part of the draw. Still, check whether the specific series or film you want is currently in the catalog before subscribing. “Everything you love” is promotional language, not a promise of permanent access to every show, movie, or studio title. Nor should broad claims about theatrical releases be read as a universal release schedule for every film.
What the offer did not include
- Ad-free viewing: The promotion was for the ad-supported tier, not Standard or Premium.
- Premium video and audio features: The $2.99 offer should not be treated as a 4K Ultra HD or Dolby Atmos subscription. Max’s current U.S. plan comparison associates those features, where available, with Premium.

Is the $2.99 deal still available?
No. The promotion expired December 1, 2025. As of September 23, 2026, it is historical pricing, not a current signup offer. Avoid treating an old deal link or search result as proof that the price remains available. A current checkout page may show different prices or promotions, and eligibility and terms can depend on the billing provider.

- Sign in to Max and open the profile menu.
- Select Subscription.
- Review your plan, billing provider, current charge, and next billing or renewal date.
- Check whether the promotional period has ended and what price is scheduled next. The original deal listing does not confirm a universal renewal price or date.
- If you do not want another charge, cancel before the next billing date using the instructions for the provider shown on the Subscription screen.
Max subscriptions renew automatically until canceled, according to its subscription cancellation help. Deleting the app does not cancel billing. If you subscribed through Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, a cable company, or another provider, cancellation may need to be handled through that provider rather than directly in Max.
Who would find Max worthwhile now?
Max may suit viewers who want its HBO and Max programming, Warner Bros. films, or available Discovery and lifestyle content, and who can find enough they want to watch at the current price. Basic with Ads is the lowest listed U.S. monthly tier, but includes advertising. Standard may make more sense if ad-free viewing and downloads matter; Premium is the tier to compare if 4K, Dolby Atmos, more simultaneous streams, or a larger download allowance is important. Consider your own viewing habits and the titles currently available rather than assuming the catalog stays fixed.

The 2025 promotion could have been appealing to an eligible new subscriber comfortable with ads: 12 months at $2.99 amounted to $35.88 before tax.
