Yes—Fox streamed Super Bowl LIX free on Tubi on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Viewers in the United States did not need cable, satellite, or a live-TV subscription, but they did need a free Tubi account and an internet connection. The stream was ad-supported, offered Fox’s broadcast telecast, and provided 4K on compatible devices.
Important: Super Bowl LIX is over. Tubi’s event page is now a historical reference, not a way to watch the live game today.
What Tubi streamed
Tubi carried a simulcast of Fox’s Super Bowl LIX broadcast—the same primary Fox game telecast rather than a separate Tubi-only production. Fox also promoted pregame programming, Tubi-specific red-carpet coverage, and additional Super Bowl Sunday programming.
The game was played at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, with kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time. Pregame coverage began earlier in the day. Fox’s original announcement described the Tubi stream as the first time Fox had streamed its Super Bowl telecast live on Tubi. Fox Sports’ announcement has the event details.

What “free” meant
- No pay-TV subscription: A cable, satellite, or live-TV-provider login was not required.
- A free account: Tubi’s event instructions told viewers to register for a free account by February 8, 2025. “Free” should not be read as “no registration required.”
- Advertising remained: Tubi is ad-supported, and the Fox stream included advertising. It was free to watch, not commercial-free.
- No ordinary subscription fee: Tubi’s standard free service does not require a paid subscription or credit card.
The stream included Fox’s broadcast feed and advertising, but viewers should not assume that every local commercial insertion or timing point was identical to an over-the-air Fox affiliate. Streaming ad delivery can vary by platform and location.
How viewers watched at the time
- Visit Tubi’s official Super Bowl page.
- Create or sign in to a free Tubi account.
- Install Tubi on a supported television, streaming device, game console, mobile device, or use a supported web browser.
- Open the featured Super Bowl LIX event tile or the relevant live-TV destination shortly before kickoff.
- Select the stream and watch over a stable broadband connection.
Tubi listed support across the web, phones and tablets, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Xbox, PlayStation, Samsung Smart TVs, Sony Smart TVs, and other supported platforms. 4K was available—but not universal
Tubi promoted Super Bowl LIX as a free 4K livestream, and its post-event announcement described the delivery as a 4K stream. That did not mean every viewer automatically received 4K.

To benefit from the higher-resolution feed, viewers generally needed a compatible 4K television, supported streaming hardware and app, suitable HDMI equipment, and a sufficiently fast, stable internet connection. A phone, browser, older streaming stick, incompatible HDMI path, or congested Wi-Fi connection could result in HD or lower quality instead. Tubi did not establish that every device offered identical HDR, audio, or picture performance.

English and Spanish viewing options
The English-language game stream was associated with Fox and Tubi. Spanish-language coverage was available through Fox Deportes and Telemundo, with Tubi’s help information directing Spanish-language viewers to those outlets. Fox also listed Spanish-language distribution among the event’s viewing options.
That does not mean every Tubi device carried every language feed. The available outlet depended on the platform, service, territory, and rights arrangement.

Other legal ways to watch
Tubi was a new free streaming outlet, not the exclusive place to watch Super Bowl LIX. The event was also distributed through Fox, Fox Deportes, Telemundo, and NFL digital properties, subject to each service’s access and regional requirements.
Over-the-air antenna
Viewers with a local Fox affiliate could use an antenna. This typically offered low-latency broadcast reception without an account or broadband connection, but reception depended on location, building materials, antenna placement, and local station availability.

Paid live-TV services
Live-TV platforms such as Hulu + Live TV and Fubo generally offer Fox in many markets, but they are designed for ongoing service rather than a single free game. Local-channel availability varies by ZIP code, and plans, trials, regional restrictions, taxes, and other terms apply. Their current pricing is not relevant to the February 2025 event and should not be confused with the historical Tubi offer.

- No event tile: The promotion was time-limited. Because the game ended February 9, 2025, the live event no longer appears as an active stream.
- Searching the on-demand catalog: Live events are typically surfaced through a featured tile or Live TV area rather than the ordinary movie and show library.
- Only HD appears: Check the display, streaming device, app version, HDMI path, account status, and network connection. 4K was available only on supported configurations.
- Buffering or delay: Restarting the app and device, updating Tubi, signing in again, and switching from congested Wi-Fi to a more stable connection could help, although live-stream delay and delivery quality varied.
- Outside the United States: Rights, device support, language feeds, and access could differ by territory. The free Tubi option was primarily a U.S.-focused offering.
What happened after the game
Tubi reported 15.5 million peak concurrent streaming viewers, a 13.6 million average-minute audience for the Super Bowl stream, and 24 million unique viewers across its Super Bowl day programming. These are company-reported figures from Tubi’s post-event announcement, not figures presented here as independently audited audience measurements.
What the result meant for cord-cutters
For Super Bowl LIX specifically, Tubi removed the largest barrier for occasional viewers: the need to purchase a live-TV package for one game. The trade-off was the normal streaming bundle of account registration, advertising, internet dependence, possible latency, and device-specific quality limits.

For future broadcast-network games, an antenna may be the better long-term choice when a household receives its local station and wants low-latency viewing. A paid live-TV service makes more sense for people who regularly need local channels and sports—not for someone seeking a one-game replacement for the free Tubi stream.
Current status
Super Bowl LIX took place on February 9, 2025, and its Tubi livestream has ended. Tubi remains a free, ad-supported streaming service, but readers should not assume that it will carry every future Super Bowl or major sporting event. Availability is event-specific and should be confirmed through the service’s official announcements and event pages.
