Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025, brought a mix of movie marketing: full trailers, shorter TV spots and brief special looks. The standouts below are selected for franchise prominence, fresh game-day footage or how much they showed—not as an objective ranking. One important distinction: some films had a new spot during the game, while other trailers were released earlier in the week.
What movie trailers and spots were tied to Super Bowl LIX?
Rotten Tomatoes’ February 9 roundup listed game-day promotions for Novocaine, Smurfs, F1 The Movie, Jurassic World Rebirth, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Lilo & Stitch, How to Train Your Dragon and Thunderbolts*. Its umbrella coverage includes full trailers, TV spots and special looks, so “Super Bowl trailers” does not mean every entry was a full-length trailer. Rotten Tomatoes’ roundup is the source for this list and the distinctions below.
NBCUniversal separately confirmed that Universal’s Super Bowl slate included Jurassic World Rebirth, M3GAN 2.0 and the live-action How to Train Your Dragon. That studio list adds M3GAN 2.0, which was not among the eight entries in the Rotten Tomatoes roundup. NBCUniversal’s February 10, 2025 report confirms the three Universal titles.
The most notable game-day movie promotions
Jurassic World Rebirth: a shorter spot, not the first release of its trailer
The game-day promotion was shorter than the film’s full trailer, which had already been released earlier that week. It is therefore a notable Super Bowl spot, but the longer trailer should not be described as having debuted during the game.

#1 Best Overall
Lilo & Stitch: Stitch takes the field
The film’s appearance was a brief comic clip featuring Stitch loose on the field, rather than a conventional trailer. Its format and recognizable character made it one of the clearest special looks of the game.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning: a new look during the game
The game included a new look at the film. ABC News also distinguished this game-day material from the Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer released in the days before the Super Bowl; that earlier release should not be counted as a trailer that aired during the game. ABC News’ February 9 report provides that distinction.

How to Train Your Dragon and M3GAN 2.0: Universal’s confirmed slate
Both films were named in NBCUniversal’s account of the studio’s Super Bowl promotions, alongside Jurassic World Rebirth. The contemporaneous article gave release dates of June 13, June 27 and July 2, 2025, respectively. Those are dates as reported on February 10, 2025, not a statement of current schedules.
Other films in the roundup
Novocaine, Smurfs, F1 The Movie and Thunderbolts* also appeared in Rotten Tomatoes’ roundup of the game’s movie promotions. The roundup identifies them as part of the mix of trailers, TV spots and special looks, rather than establishing that every title received a full trailer.

How to interpret “best and biggest”
There is no sourced, objective ranking of these promotions. A useful way to compare them is to ask what kind of material viewers got: a full trailer, a shorter ad or a brief character clip; whether footage was new to game day or followed an earlier release; and whether the spot offered story details or mainly a quick visual gag. On those criteria, the Jurassic World Rebirth spot is notable for the shorter game-day cut, while Lilo & Stitch stands out as a compact comic appearance. The franchise titles also make the overall slate especially recognizable, but that is an editorial judgment, not a measured audience result.
