The project was presented as an unofficial fan animation inspired by the Black Swordsman arc of Kentaro Miura’s Berserk manga—not as an authorized franchise adaptation. The episode date mentioned with the trailer was a production target, not confirmation that an episode came out.
What the Studio Eclypse trailer announced
The 2024 trailer introduced a fan-made animated project based on the Black Swordsman arc. Studio Eclypse’s own video description explicitly called it an “unofficial adaptation” and asked viewers to support official Berserk releases. Studio Eclypse’s trailer description is the clearest evidence of how the studio characterized the project.
Contemporary coverage of the trailer appeared in May 2024, including Hypebeast’s trailer report and Animaku’s coverage.
Was The Black Swordsman an official Berserk anime?
No. Studio Eclypse described its project as unofficial. That makes it distinct from authorized Berserk manga and anime releases; the trailer should not be treated as an announcement from the franchise’s rights holders or as a licensed adaptation.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The official Berserk Memorial Edition site identifies the manga as a work by Kentaro Miura published in Hakusensha’s Young Animal. It also says the manga’s cumulative circulation exceeded 55 million copies worldwide as of 2022. That figure concerns the wider manga franchise, not the Eclypse project.
Did the planned episode release in 2025?
The trailer description said, “Episode 1 currently in pre-production. 2025.” That is a dated statement of the studio’s plan at the time, not evidence that the episode was completed or released. The available material does not establish an episode release.

What happened to the fan project?
A current crawl of a mirror of Studio Eclypse’s social profile reports that the project had not been approved by the rights holders and that the studio said it had been warned to stop publishing Berserk animated content. A mirror of the studio’s social profile is the source for that later status report.
The original rights-holder notice was not directly verified, so the report should be understood as an attributed account of what the studio reportedly said—not as a court ruling or a definitive statement about the legal status of every possible fan work. The available information does not establish the exact scope of any warning.

How this differs from official Berserk releases
The Eclypse trailer and authorized franchise products are separate. For example, the official site lists Berserk: The Golden Age Arc Memorial Edition on Blu-ray, released March 29, 2023. That is an authorized home-video release, not an episode or distribution of The Black Swordsman fan project. See the official Blu-ray product page.
Readers looking for the source material can start with the original Berserk manga. The official franchise site links to the comics; manga editions are separate from the Studio Eclypse animation.
