Gyre: cloud-hosted playlist looping
Gyre describes a workflow of uploading video files to cloud storage, arranging them in a playlist, connecting a YouTube channel, scheduling a continuous broadcast, and letting the playlist loop. It says the stream runs on Gyre’s servers, so a personal computer does not need to stay on. What a 24/7 YouTube stream means for archives and monetization
Do not rely on a continuous stream as a complete replay
YouTube says it can automatically archive a live stream that is less than 12 hours. It warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If viewers need a dependable replay, retain a separate recording and plan how to publish it; a continuous broadcast should not be treated as a guaranteed full-length archive. Automation does not make a channel eligible for monetization
YouTube’s monetization policies require original, authentic content and address repetitive or mass-produced programming as inauthentic content. Review applies at the channel level, and reused-content rules are separate from copyright enforcement. A playlist that repeats existing recordings does not automatically qualify or disqualify a channel: the content and channel must be assessed against YouTube’s policies. YouTube reports that creators who chose automatic live mid-rolls saw, on average, over 20% uplift in instream ad revenue per hour compared with channels that had not enabled automatic live mid-rolls.
