Spectrum TV Stream was announced on April 16, 2024, as a live-TV package with more than 90 channels for Spectrum Internet customers. Its announced launch price was $39.99 per month, plus applicable taxes. The lineup centered on news and entertainment—not a broad sports or local-broadcast offering—and that price and channel count describe the 2024 launch, not a verified current offer.
What was Spectrum TV Stream?
Charter Communications introduced Spectrum TV Stream as a curated, internet-delivered residential TV package for people who already subscribed to Spectrum Internet. It was a paid live-TV service accessed through the Spectrum TV App, rather than a free streaming channel or a package that could be bought independently of Spectrum broadband. Charter described it as a lower-cost video option alongside its traditional TV packages. Charter’s announcement gives the launch details.
“Standalone” therefore needs a qualification: Stream was a separate video package, but it was not an internet-independent subscription available to any household.
When did it launch, and what did it cost?
Charter announced Spectrum TV Stream on April 16, 2024. The launch offer was $39.99 per month, plus applicable taxes, for more than 90 live channels. The announcement does not establish a universal all-in household cost: customers also needed Spectrum Internet, and the quoted TV price did not include the cost of broadband or necessarily reflect other taxes or charges.

The $39.99 figure is a historical launch price. The available launch announcement does not confirm that the same product, price, or lineup remains available in 2026. Check Spectrum’s current offers using your address and account details before making a decision.
What channels were in the launch lineup?
Charter described the package as having more than 90 live channels, not exactly 90. Named examples included A&E, AMC, BBC America, CNN, Discovery, Disney Channel, Fox News, FX, Hallmark, HGTV, National Geographic, TCM and TLC. Spectrum News was included only in some markets.

As a snapshot of the package’s range, contemporary coverage also reproduced launch-lineup names such as Animal Planet, BET, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, Food Network, Fox Business, History, Lifetime, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, OWN, The Weather Channel, Travel Channel, truTV, TV Land, VH1 and WE tv. These are historical examples, not a guarantee of a current lineup or of availability at every address. The mix was aimed at viewers looking for cable news, general entertainment, lifestyle and reality shows, documentaries, movies, children’s programming and specialty channels. Charter also said subscribers could access thousands of free On Demand titles. That described a catalog of titles, not an unlimited library of every program or film from every included network.

What was missing?
The channel count alone could make the package sound like a full cable replacement, but the lineup had important gaps. Contemporary coverage reported that it lacked local broadcast channels and most major sports channels; TechHive characterized the offer as having no sports or local channels. TechHive’s launch-era analysis discusses those limitations.
That matters if your must-haves are an ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX local affiliate, ESPN, or a regional sports network. The package was not positioned as a sports-focused service, and the launch announcement does not establish that every household could get those stations through it. Spectrum News is a separate point: Charter said it was available in some markets, but that does not mean local broadcast affiliates were included.

In short, the trade-off at launch was a focused selection of familiar cable networks for eligible Spectrum Internet customers, in exchange for fewer local and sports options than many viewers expect from a comprehensive live-TV replacement.
How could subscribers watch?
At launch, Charter listed the Spectrum TV App on Xumo Stream Box, iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets, Apple TV, Roku, Xbox One, Amazon Kindle Fire devices and Samsung Smart TVs. It also listed viewing on computers through SpectrumTV.com. This is the 2024 announcement’s device list, not a guarantee that every device remains supported in 2026; check Spectrum’s current compatibility information before subscribing or buying equipment.

A compatible device could make an extra box unnecessary for some households. Xumo Stream Box was one supported option, but the launch announcement alone does not verify its current price, availability or compatibility terms.
What was Spectrum Stream Latino?
Charter also announced Spectrum Stream Latino, a companion package with more than 45 Spanish-language channels for Spectrum Internet customers. Its launch price was $24.99 per month plus applicable taxes, and it could be purchased on its own or bundled with Spectrum TV Stream. Charter cited Univision, Telemundo, beIN Sports en Español, Discovery en Español, Galavisión, TUDN, UniMás and Bandamax as examples. Those are launch-era details, not confirmation of current pricing or availability.
Is the 90+ channel plan still available?
The confirmed claim is that Charter announced a residential Spectrum TV Stream package with more than 90 live channels at $39.99 per month plus applicable taxes in April 2024. That does not prove the same residential plan or terms are still offered today. Current address-specific availability, pricing and channel lineups should be checked directly with Spectrum.

Also avoid confusing the residential launch with Spectrum Business TV.
