David Woolley said he wanted conversations with his wife, Sister Wives star Christine Brown, to focus on their relationship and other topics—not repeatedly revisit her former relationships. In a preview of the season 21 premiere, Christine responded that polygamy shaped her life and that monogamy was new to her relationship with David. The exchange, reported by Us Weekly on September 30, 2026, offers a glimpse of one conversation, not a definitive account of their marriage.
What David said about Christine’s exes
In the Us Weekly preview, David describes repeated conversations about Christine’s past relationships as something that had become tiresome. “At first I was OK, but then it got old,” he says, according to the outlet. He adds: “I want to know about you and I,” and asks, “Can we talk about sports? Can we talk about something else?”
His stated point in the preview is that he wants their conversations to include their life together and subjects beyond Christine’s former relationships. The report does not provide a full episode transcript or timestamp, so the quotations should be understood as the preview’s account of the exchange.
How Christine responded
Christine says in the same preview that polygamy made her who she is and that she had only known polygamy before being with David. Her response frames her past as part of her life experience, rather than something she can simply leave out of conversation. Us Weekly describes her as visibly tense during the exchange; that is the outlet’s characterization of the scene, not a diagnosis of her feelings or their relationship.

Does the exchange mean they are having marital trouble?
Not on its own. The preview documents a disagreement about what the couple talks about; it does not establish the overall state of their marriage or announce a separation. Reality-TV scenes are edited, and the reviewed account is a secondary report of an episode preview rather than a full transcript or episode inspection. It is more accurate to treat David’s comments as his reported frustration with a recurring topic than as proof of a broader marital problem.
Relationship context from earlier coverage
The Us Weekly preview says Christine married David in October 2023 and describes her spiritual marriage to Kody Brown as lasting more than 20 years before their split in November 2021. Those details provide context for why her prior relationship may be part of her life story, but they do not explain the full circumstances of the conversation in the preview.

Earlier coverage offers chronology, not a verdict on the couple’s present relationship. In February 2025, E! News reported that Christine addressed speculation about marital trouble in an Instagram video featuring clips of the couple smiling and laughing. In November 2024, Entertainment Tonight described an interview in which the couple discussed married life about a year after their wedding. Neither earlier item establishes their current private relationship status.
