Riverside, California’s Effortless Motors built a custom C8 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 for Shaquille O’Neal, who is reported to be 7 feet 1 inch tall. Road & Track reported an overall 20-inch stretch; a later account, based on a shop video comparing the car with a standard C8, detailed changes to its door, roof, rear wing and seating space. The roof still did not give O’Neal enough room to sit beneath it while driving.
Who built Shaq’s stretched Corvette?
Road & Track reported that Effortless Motors, a shop in Riverside, California, built the custom C8 Corvette Z06 specifically for O’Neal. Its September 3, 2025 report describes the car as stretched 20 inches. This was a one-off custom build, not a factory Corvette option or an established, commercially available conversion kit. Road & Track’s initial report said details of how the stretch was carried out were limited at the time.
What changed on the car?
In an October 1, 2025 follow-up, Road & Track described builder Ahmad Adelrahman demonstrating the modified car beside a regular C8 in an Effortless Motors video. The dimensions below are reported by Road & Track from that video; they are not independent measurements or independently verified factory specifications.

The extra space between the brake pedal and seat addresses legroom, while the longer door and roof change the cabin’s proportions. The wider rear wing is another visible body modification. Road & Track’s follow-up on the shop’s measurements does not provide a complete build specification or explain every engineering step.

Could O’Neal drive with the hard top on?
No: the follow-up says the roof remained too low for O’Neal to sit beneath while driving. The car was initially delivered with its hard top removed. The roof was lengthened compared with a standard C8, but the reported increase did not solve the height constraint.

The cited coverage reports the stretch and selected dimensions, but does not establish independent engineering validation, safety certification, crashworthiness, roadworthiness findings or performance testing. Those points cannot be inferred from the measurements or from the comparison shown in the shop video. The available reporting also does not show that the car retains standard Z06 driving dynamics after the extensive modifications.
