But the scene did not establish that Nicole was fired from the brokerage: Nicole said she was not, and Jason Oppenheim later confirmed she remained with the firm.
What happened at Friendsgiving?
Season 9’s conflict between Nicole and Chrishell came to a head at Amanza Smith’s Friendsgiving dinner. The conversation revisited Chrishell’s earlier accusation that Nicole had seemed to be using drugs. During the argument, Nicole told Chrishell, “Honey, you’re confusing me with your parents,” and added, “You seem to be obsessed with drugs.” Those remarks are part of the televised exchange; the accusation itself should not be treated as verified fact. Netflix Tudum’s Oct. 29, 2025 interview with Nicole recounts the confrontation.
Was Nicole Young fired?
The episode shows Jason and Brett Oppenheim asking Nicole to leave the office. That is different from being dismissed from The Oppenheim Group brokerage. Nicole told Tudum, “the truth of the matter is I was never fired from the office or The Oppenheim group.” She also explained that the agents were independent contractors rather than employees expected to work a conventional office schedule, and said that continuing to work without coming into the office “wasn’t a huge deal.”
Jason made the distinction explicit at the Season 9 reunion. As reported by Cosmopolitan on Nov. 5, 2025, he said, “I’m still working with Nicole,” and clarified, “Nicole’s not out of the brokerage.” He described stepping away from the office as healthy for her.

What did Nicole say she planned to do next?
In her Oct. 29, 2025 interview, Nicole said she planned to move to Nashville to be closer to her husband’s family. She said she had spent the preceding year studying that market and intended to continue working in real estate, while not ruling out Los Angeles business. Those were her plans at the time of the interview; they do not establish her present residence or current business status.
Why headlines called it a firing
Some contemporaneous coverage used “fired” to describe the office-exit scene. For example, Distractify’s Oct. 29, 2025 episode coverage framed the moment that way. But the on-screen request to leave the office, Nicole’s statement, and Jason’s reunion clarification point to a narrower account: she was asked to leave the office, while both said she remained connected to the brokerage.
