Who was in the Season 5 cast?

These are TLC’s descriptions of the households and their Season 5 storylines, not a statement about their present-day relationships. TLC described the season as following five families searching for and courting potential sister wives. Warner Bros. Discovery’s 2024 announcement listed the premiere as Monday, March 4, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Returning households
Dannielle and Garrick Merrifield
The Merrifields returned after Roberta, their fiancée of three years, decided not to come to the United States. TLC said they resumed dating and were courting Nathalia, another Brazilian woman. Garrick hoped Nathalia would become his wife, while Dannielle had reservations. TLC’s Season 5 family bios identified the household as being from Buena Vista, Colorado.
The Davis family
Nick and April Davis were joined by Jennifer and newer wife Danielle. TLC’s Season 5 framing said the family had welcomed Danielle and moved to a larger home. The question of adding another wife exposed a difference within the household: Danielle was not on board, and the family worried they could lose her. TLC placed them in Aurora, Colorado. Danielle Davis is distinct from Dannielle Merrifield.

New households
Nailah and Naeem Salahuddin
The Salahuddins were childhood friends and had been married for 15 years when Nailah suggested seeking a sister wife, according to TLC. The network said they were raised Muslim and familiar with polygamy, while Naeem’s mother’s support was a major challenge. They were introduced as a new household from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
Becky and Justin Ryan
TLC said the Ryans had been married for 26 years and had sought a sister wife for more than 20 years. They thought their girlfriend Stephanie might be the right match, but she had not committed. The couple continued dating and met Yary. Their Season 5 introduction placed them in Celina, Texas.

Ashley and Shane Sherwood
The Sherwoods had been married for two years, and Ashley was pregnant with their second son when the season was framed. TLC said Ashley led the search. A potential sister wife, Grace, wanted to get to know Ashley without meeting Shane, a boundary that created tension. The household was listed as being from Wayland, Massachusetts.
