Prime Video’s official The Rings of Power Season 2 SDCC trailer, published July 26, 2024, sets up a widening conflict: Sauron returns through deception, more Rings are forged, and Middle-earth’s realms face the threat of war. Amazon identifies the Siege of Eregion as a major battle in the season. Season 2 has since premiered and concluded.
What happens in The Rings of Power Season 2 trailer?
The trailer’s central thread is Sauron’s effort to regain power after Galadriel casts him out. Played by Charlie Vickers, Sauron has to rebuild his strength without an army or an ally, relying on deception as the creation of more Rings of Power draws the story toward conflict. Amazon’s announcement describes the season as involving “the devastating war against Sauron.” About Amazon’s Season 2 trailer article lays out that premise and the threatened realms.
The promotional line in Prime Video’s trailer description is “Beware the promise of gifts.” It is not attributed to a named speaker. Prime Video’s official SDCC trailer was published July 26, 2024.
Does the trailer show the Siege of Eregion?
Amazon identifies the Siege of Eregion as one of the season’s major Second Age battles. The trailer’s broader setup is a region-spanning crisis, with Eregion, Khazad-dûm, Lindon, Númenor, and the lands between facing consequential choices as alliances come under pressure. Eregion’s siege is therefore a key part of the season’s war story, rather than the trailer’s only conflict.
