Where the ceremony took place and why they chose the date
The couple held a small gathering at their home. In a post-wedding interview with PEOPLE, republished by Yahoo, Lake said, “It could not have been a more perfect day.” The report said they moved the wedding to January 2 because it was the only date all six of their children could attend. Lake publicly announced her engagement to Burningham in February 2021. In the announcement, she wrote, “This is Ross. He is my person. He is wonderful.” She also said in comments reported by RTÉ that they were newly empty-nesters and felt like kids again. RTÉ reported the engagement announcement on February 22, 2021.
ABC News’ Good Morning America also reported Lake’s account that she met Burningham on a COVID walk. Its January 3, 2022 report covered the wedding.
