If your PRISM Live Studio YouTube stream will not start or keeps disconnecting on a desktop in India, first try PRISM’s India-specific network setting: Settings → Advanced → Network, set IP Family to IPv4 Only, enable network optimizations, apply the change, and restart PRISM. For a stream already running, diagnose upload capacity, Wi-Fi or LAN stability, and security-software interference instead. Mobile users should reduce stream demand with Adaptive or a lower resolution. These fixes address different failure modes; none guarantees that every viewer-visible buffering problem is caused by PRISM or your connection.
First identify what “buffering” means in your stream
Viewers may describe a choppy, frozen, or repeatedly interrupted broadcast as buffering. PRISM’s support guides more often describe the corresponding problems as a stream that cannot connect, becomes unstable, or disconnects. The right fix depends on your device and when the trouble starts:
- Desktop in India; cannot start or unstable YouTube RTMP connection: try PRISM’s IPv4 and network-optimization settings first.
- Desktop stream starts, then disconnects: check upload capacity, local network stability, Wi-Fi signal, and firewall or security software.
- Streaming from a phone: reduce video data with Adaptive or a lower resolution, and check whether other users are using the connection.
- Stream never connects on either platform: check the RTMP address or key and the platform’s streaming permissions as well as the network.
PRISM’s desktop guidance about IPv6 concerns the described connection problem in certain countries; it is not a universal explanation for mobile issues, mid-stream buffering, or every YouTube interruption.
Desktop in India: try PRISM’s IPv4 setting
PRISM Live Studio’s desktop support guide says recent IPv6 transition policies and changes in ISP infrastructure in certain countries can affect connections to streaming ingest servers. It advises this setting change for the relevant connection failure or instability:

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- In PRISM Live Studio desktop, open Settings → Advanced → Network.
- Set IP Family to IPv4 Only.
- Turn on Enable network optimizations.
- Apply the settings and restart PRISM before testing the stream again.
PRISM’s guide qualifies the rationale: “In regions where IPv6 network connections are unstable, using IPv4 may help improve connection stability to the streaming ingest server.” This is a vendor-recommended test, not a guarantee for all Indian networks or all symptoms. See PRISM’s desktop connection guide.
If the stream still will not connect
Confirm that the RTMP URL and stream key are correct, and that YouTube permits the channel to live stream with the relevant settings. If the stream connects but drops later, use the checks below rather than assuming the IPv4 change addresses that separate problem.

Desktop stream disconnects: check the route from your PC to the internet
A stream can start successfully and still drop if the computer cannot sustain its upload or the connection is interrupted. PRISM’s desktop disconnect guide identifies insufficient upload capacity, unstable local networking, weak Wi-Fi, and firewall or third-party security interference as things to check.
- Check the connection in use. If the computer is on Wi-Fi, assess signal strength and whether the connection is fluctuating. When practical, connect the computer to the router with wired LAN and test again. PRISM says: “To maintain a consistent data transmission, we highly recommend using a wired internet connection (LAN) rather than Wi-Fi.”
- Consider competing network use. Large uploads, downloads, or other heavy traffic on the same connection can leave less upload capacity for a live stream. Pause nonessential transfers while testing.
- Review security interference. Check whether a firewall or third-party security program is blocking PRISM’s connection. Do not permanently disable protective software; use its settings or support guidance to investigate safely.
- Retest one change at a time. A stable wired test, for example, can help distinguish a weak Wi-Fi link from a problem elsewhere in the connection.
If your desktop has an Ethernet port and your router supports a wired connection, an Ethernet cable can enable this test; check port or adapter compatibility before buying one. A cable cannot by itself correct an IPv6 transition issue, low ISP upload capacity, or a problem at YouTube’s end. Read PRISM’s desktop disconnect guidance.

Mobile: lower stream demand and check shared bandwidth
On mobile, an unstable connection may not sustain the selected video quality. PRISM advises enabling Adaptive in its stream-quality controls; if conditions remain poor, lower the resolution. Adaptive can reduce the amount of video data sent as conditions change, which may help transmission continue, but picture quality can fall.
- Open PRISM’s stream-quality controls and turn on Adaptive.
- If the stream remains unstable, select a lower resolution and test again.
- Check whether other devices or people on the same connection are transferring large files or otherwise using substantial bandwidth.
- If you are outdoors or in a crowded area, check whether the network connection itself is stable; the phone must upload the video to the streaming server.
PRISM’s mobile stability guide lists these bandwidth ranges with Adaptive off: 1080p, 0.1–4 Mbps or 0.1–6 Mbps; 720p, 0.1–2.5 Mbps or 0.1–4 Mbps; 480p, 0.1–2 Mbps; and 360p, 0.1–1.5 Mbps. The guide recommends at least twice the specified network bandwidth for high-quality live streaming. These are PRISM’s mobile guidance figures, not a universal YouTube bitrate guarantee; actual stability depends on the connection and conditions. Check PRISM’s mobile stability and quality tips.

If mobile streaming never starts
Do not assume every failed start is a bandwidth problem. PRISM’s mobile guide also says to check that the RTMP address is valid and correctly formatted, and to confirm the platform connection and streaming permissions. See PRISM’s mobile streaming-failure guide.

For persistent errors, PRISM’s FAQ advises confirming that internet access works, checking the network in use, updating PRISM, and contacting its service inquiry channel if the error remains. Record whether the problem occurs before the stream starts or after it has been running, and whether changing networks or moving from Wi-Fi to wired LAN changes the result; those details make a support request more useful. The cited PRISM pages do not establish that changing DNS, buying a different router, switching ISP, or using a VPN will fix this issue, so treat those as unverified rather than guaranteed remedies. They also do not provide a basis for ranking Indian ISPs.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep prerecorded content playing as a 24/7 YouTube live stream, rather than broadcast live from PRISM, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud keeps the loop running without leaving a computer or home connection on. It supports uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card.
StreamNeo is for YouTube streams made from uploaded videos, not camera broadcasts. Monthly service is $9.99 per month. Start the free first day with StreamNeo.
