A separate sequel series is also planned, but Netflix has not announced its premiere date.
Is Peaky Blinders coming back?
Yes. The return behind the “next week” headline was Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, a film continuation of the original series centered on Tommy Shelby. Netflix’s published streaming date was March 20, 2026, so the headline’s timing is no longer current as of October 2026. The six-season original series ended in 2022; the film followed it, and a distinct sequel series has since been announced.
Netflix described a select-theater release beginning March 6, 2026, followed by the Netflix release on March 20. The announcement did not specify theater geography, so local theatrical availability should not be assumed. Netflix’s film release guide has the streaming details.
What is The Immortal Man about?
The film takes place in Birmingham in 1940, during World War II. Tommy Shelby returns from self-imposed exile and is pulled into a crisis involving his family and country. Series creator Steven Knight wrote the film, and Tom Harper directed it. Knight described its wartime stakes this way: “The country is at war, and so, of course, are our Peaky Blinders.”
