The 2024 Paramount+ Black Friday deal has expired. The U.S. promotion ended on December 4, 2024, and is not available as of August 12, 2026. It offered new and eligible former subscribers either Paramount+ Essential or Paramount+ with SHOWTIME for $2.99 per month for the first two months—a total introductory subscription cost of $5.98 before applicable taxes.
This was a monthly introductory offer, not a discounted annual subscription. After the first two months, the subscription automatically renewed at the then-current regular monthly rate unless canceled.
What the Paramount+ Black Friday deal included
The main U.S. direct-signup promotion reduced both available monthly plans to $2.99 per month for two months:
| Plan | Black Friday price | 2024-era regular monthly price | Advertising and content | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paramount+ Essential | $2.99/month for the first two months | $7.99/month | Ad-supported; Paramount+ programming and selected sports, including NFL on CBS; no SHOWTIME library | Viewers seeking the lowest-cost way to watch Paramount+ originals, CBS-related programming, and selected sports |
| Paramount+ with SHOWTIME | $2.99/month for the first two months | $12.99/month | SHOWTIME programming, generally commercial-free on-demand viewing, supported premium video features, downloads, and local CBS access where available | Viewers who wanted SHOWTIME, premium playback features, or the larger content package |
The $7.99 and $12.99 figures were the reported monthly prices during the 2024 promotion. They should not be treated as current August 2026 prices. Paramount+ subsequently changed its plan naming and pricing; the 2024 premium plan was specifically called Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, not Paramount+ Premium.

How much could subscribers save?
Someone who subscribed only for the two promotional months paid $5.98 before taxes. Compared with the reported 2024 regular rates, that represented approximately:
- $10 in gross savings on Essential: two regular months at $7.99 would have cost $15.98.
- $20 in gross savings on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME: two regular months at $12.99 would have cost $25.98.
The premium plan offered the larger dollar discount during the introductory period, but Essential required less ongoing commitment if the subscriber planned to cancel after watching a limited selection of shows or sports.
Which Paramount+ plan was the better choice?
Choose Essential if you wanted the lowest-cost option
Essential was the advertising-supported tier. It included the Paramount+ catalog and selected live-sports programming, including NFL content carried on CBS, but it did not include the SHOWTIME library. It was the sensible choice for viewers primarily interested in Paramount+ originals, CBS-related entertainment, or selected sports and who did not need the premium tier’s additional features.
Essential was also the less expensive plan to keep after the deal. That distinction mattered because the $2.99 price lasted for only two billing cycles.

Choose Paramount+ with SHOWTIME if you wanted the broader package
The higher tier included SHOWTIME programming and was generally commercial-free for on-demand content. Live television could still contain advertising. Depending on device, market, and program availability, it also included features such as supported 4K UHD, Dolby Vision or HDR10 playback, offline downloads, and access to a live local CBS stream.

- Ultra-speedy streaming: Roku Ultra is 30% faster than any other Roku player, delivering a lightning-fast interface and apps that launch in a snap.
- Cinematic streaming: This TV streaming device brings the movie theater to your living room with spectacular 4K, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision picture alongside immersive Dolby Atmos audio.
- The ultimate Roku remote: The rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro offers backlit buttons, hands-free voice controls, and a lost remote finder.
- No more fumbling in the dark: See what you’re pressing with backlit buttons.
- Say goodbye to batteries: Keep your remote powered for months on a single charge.
That made the premium tier a stronger value for viewers who planned to watch SHOWTIME series or movies, download content for offline viewing, or use the higher-quality video options. Local CBS availability and sports access could vary by market and plan, so the tier name alone did not guarantee every live channel or event everywhere in the United States.
Who qualified for the 2024 promotion?
The offer was aimed at new subscribers and eligible former subscribers. “Eligible former subscribers” did not mean that every previous Paramount+ customer automatically qualified. Existing subscribers were not described as eligible for the direct promotion.
The promotion applied to monthly plans only. It was not a $2.99 annual subscription and should not be described as a year-long discount. Taxes could also apply, and the exact checkout total could vary by location.
When did the offer end?
The direct Paramount+ promotion was reported to run through December 4, 2024. A separate promotion for Paramount+ subscriptions purchased through Amazon Prime Video Channels was reported to end on December 2, 2024.
Those were different signup paths with different deadlines. The Amazon deadline should not be generalized to the direct Paramount+ website offer, and neither date represents a current Paramount+ promotion.

The renewal warning most subscribers needed to notice
After the first two months, the subscription automatically renewed at the then-current full monthly price unless canceled. Anyone using the offer as a short-term trial needed to check the account’s renewal date and cancel before the first full-price billing cycle.
The reported 2024 rates—$7.99 per month for Essential and $12.99 per month for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME—were useful for evaluating the deal at the time, but Paramount+ can change prices and plan structures. A current subscription should always be judged using the renewal price shown at checkout or in the account, not an old Black Friday article.
Why the deal was timely for holiday viewing
Paramount+ promoted a holiday collection during November 2024, including the service-exclusive holiday film Dear Santa, which premiered on November 25. That seasonal programming helped explain the appeal of a two-month subscription: a viewer could use the service during the holiday period and into January at the introductory rate.
The service also had U.S. sports relevance through NFL on CBS and UEFA Champions League coverage. However, sports rights, local CBS streams, blackout rules, and plan availability can depend on the market and the specific event. The holiday collection did not extend the promotion or turn the introductory price into a permanent annual offer.
What can viewers do after the deal expired?
There is no legitimate way to claim the 2024 $2.99 offer after its December 4, 2024 expiration. Readers looking for the service now should check the current Paramount+ subscription page and confirm the present plan names, monthly or annual pricing, introductory terms, and cancellation rules before paying. Any later promotion must be evaluated separately rather than treated as a continuation of the 2024 sale.

Consider Walmart+ only if the wider membership is useful
Walmart+ has offered Paramount+ Essential as an included ad-supported streaming benefit, with an optional paid upgrade to Paramount+ Premium described in Walmart’s terms. This is a separate bundle—not the 2024 Black Friday deal—and its price, eligibility, and benefit rules can change.

It is less compelling if the only goal is Paramount+ and the Walmart+ membership would otherwise go unused. Confirm the current Walmart+ terms and the exact Paramount+ tier included before signing up.
Amazon Prime Video Channels was a separate historical route
In 2024, Paramount+ was also reported as available through Amazon Prime Video Channels at $2.99 per month for the first two months, with a December 2, 2024 deadline. That route could appeal to people who preferred managing streaming subscriptions inside Prime Video, but it was not the same as subscribing directly through Paramount+.
Current channel availability, pricing, eligibility, and cancellation arrangements must be checked in Amazon’s U.S. marketplace. Do not assume that a current Prime Video Channel listing, if available, carries the old promotional price.
Important U.S. and date limitations
- This research concerns the United States. Paramount+ availability, prices, plan names, content rights, taxes, and sports access vary by country.
- The direct offer ended December 4, 2024; the separately reported Amazon Prime Video Channel offer ended December 2, 2024.
- The promotion was monthly and lasted two months, not one year.
- SHOWTIME was included with Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, not with Essential.
- Not every former subscriber necessarily qualified.
- The exact promotional code, if one was used at checkout, is not included because no authenticated archived Paramount+ record established it.

The Bottom Line
The 2024 Paramount+ Black Friday sale was a worthwhile short-term offer—$2.99 per month for two months on either Essential or Paramount+ with SHOWTIME—but it is over. The direct promotion ended December 4, 2024, and should not be presented as an active 2026 deal. For a current subscription, compare Paramount+’s live pricing with alternatives such as Walmart+’s included Paramount+ Essential benefit, but verify all current terms before signing up.
