OceanVeil, the anime streaming service operated by WWWave Corporation, announced a licensing partnership with Media Blasters on November 9, 2025, covering six older and difficult-to-find anime properties: Genshiken, Green Green, Kite: Liberator, Grenadier: The Beautiful War, Chu-Bra!!, and Doomed Megalopolis. The announcement said the titles would be offered in dubbed and subtitled formats before the end of 2025 and described the package as containing more than 32 hours of anime.
“Rescues” is best understood as streaming-industry shorthand, not physical preservation. The deal gives titles that can be difficult to locate legally a new streaming home; it does not mean OceanVeil restored the original materials, owns the shows, or guarantees permanent availability.

What OceanVeil and Media Blasters announced
The partnership was reported on November 9, 2025, with the six-title package scheduled for release before the end of that year. The announcement identified both dubbed and subtitled availability, but it did not publish a title-by-title breakdown of language tracks, episode runtimes, territories, or the history of each English dub. The syndicated report on IMDb is therefore useful for identifying the package, while individual OceanVeil title pages remain the better place to confirm what is currently streamable.
Media Blasters’ participation is significant because the company has a substantial American anime and genre-content back catalog, including titles with earlier U.S. home-video and localization histories. A Media Blasters licensing deal does not automatically mean that the company owns every underlying right, or that the streaming license is worldwide or perpetual. Streaming rights can differ by country, term, version, and platform.

The six anime in the reported package
Genshiken
This cult college comedy-drama follows an otaku club and the changing relationships among its members. It is the most immediately recognizable title in the group for many English-speaking anime fans, combining fan culture, awkward comedy, and character-driven drama.
Green Green
An early-2000s romantic comedy with heavy ecchi elements, Green Green is representative of the kind of catalog material that can disappear from major services when older licenses expire. Its sexualized humor and school setting make it unsuitable for viewers looking for family-oriented anime.
Kite: Liberator
Kite: Liberator is a science-fiction action OVA connected to the Kite franchise. As an OVA rather than a conventional long-running television series, it is precisely the sort of shorter, specialized release that can be overlooked by broad catalog services.
Grenadier: The Beautiful War
This action series blends a historical-fantasy setting with exaggerated gunplay and a distinctive heroine. Its earlier U.S. availability does not necessarily mean that its streaming rights have remained continuously active.
Rank #2
Chu-Bra!!
Chu-Bra!! is a school comedy centered on lingerie education and adolescent sexuality. Because its characters are teenagers and the material is sexualized, viewers should check the service’s rating information and consider the title’s age suitability rather than treating it as ordinary school comedy.
Doomed Megalopolis
This dark supernatural and historical OVA is based on Hiroshi Aramata’s novel. Its ominous atmosphere and historical occult subject matter make it a markedly different viewing experience from the lighter comedies in the package.
What does “more than 32 hours” actually mean?
The reported figure should be treated as an announced promotional total, not a independently verified runtime. The public announcement does not show whether the calculation includes opening and ending credits, multiple versions, every installment of each property, or both the subtitled and dubbed presentations. It also does not establish whether the figure describes the final catalog or the planned package at announcement.
For that reason, it is safer to say that OceanVeil and the announcement described the collection as totaling more than 32 hours than to publish a more precise number. A catalog check may produce a different total as titles, episodes, versions, or regional rights change.

Are English dubs included?
The announcement said the additions would be available in dubbed and subtitled formats. That confirms the intended language options for the package, but it does not establish that every title has both options in every territory.
It also does not say whether OceanVeil commissioned new dubs, relicensed existing Media Blasters home-video dubs, or is using different English-language versions from title to title. Those distinctions matter: an English dub becoming available on a streaming service is not the same as a newly produced dub. Check the individual title page before subscribing, particularly if an English track is essential.
Why these anime are described as “rare”
In this context, “rare” generally means hard to find through current legal streaming services, not that a title has never been legally released. Older anime can become difficult to access when regional licenses expire, physical editions go out of print, or separate companies control home-video, streaming, and international rights.
OceanVeil’s own materials describe a mission centered on catalog works, previously underlicensed anime, subtitles, dubs, and titles that have not received broad international distribution. That is a company positioning statement, not an independent audit of every title’s availability history. A show may have been legally available before, may remain available on disc, or may appear in one country while being unavailable in another.

What kind of service is OceanVeil?
OceanVeil is a subscription video-on-demand service operated by Tokyo-based WWWave Corporation. It launched on March 11, 2025, and is designed primarily for English-speaking audiences while presenting itself as accessible internationally. Its catalog emphasizes niche, adult-oriented, uncensored or unedited, archival, and simulcast anime, along with English dubs.
OceanVeil calls itself “North America’s most mature anime streamer,” but that is promotional positioning rather than a verified market ranking. “Mature” also needs to be read literally: the service’s broader catalog includes adult and sexually explicit material. It is not a general-audience or family anime platform.
OceanVeil says its titles are officially licensed; that is the company’s representation and should not be expanded into a claim that every title is available under identical rights worldwide. Its own service information and catalog examples can be found at OceanVeil’s licensing and company announcement and its service information page.
How to watch
- Search for the specific title. Do not assume that the partnership announcement guarantees that every installment, cut, or language track is currently available.
- Create a free account first. OceanVeil advertises selected free episodes, previews, or other limited viewing. Use that access to test playback and inspect the title’s language and rating information.
- Confirm device access. As of the latest cited service information, OceanVeil is browser-based and does not have a dedicated mobile or television app. Do not assume support for Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Fire TV, game consoles, Chromecast, or AirPlay unless OceanVeil documents it.
- Review payment and regional access. The service lists PayPal as a worldwide payment option, but payment support and catalog rights can vary by country. North American availability should not automatically be generalized to every English-speaking territory.
- Subscribe only after checking the catalog. OceanVeil’s first-anniversary information listed the monthly price as $12.99 as of August 18, 2026. Prices and plans can change, so confirm the amount on the official signup page.
Who should subscribe?
OceanVeil is most compelling for viewers who specifically want obscure catalog anime, adult-oriented material, unedited or niche releases, or titles that are not easy to find on larger services. The Media Blasters package is particularly valuable if one or more of the six named shows is the reason you are looking.

- English dubbed, Japanese language, English subtitles
It is a weaker fit for families, viewers who want a general-purpose anime catalog, or anyone who expects a polished app on a smart TV, phone, or game console. A browser-only service can work well on a computer but may be inconvenient for television-first households.
At $12.99 per month, the practical question is not whether the partnership sounds substantial. It is whether the target title is available in your country, includes the dub or subtitles you want, plays on your preferred device, and provides enough additional viewing to justify a recurring subscription. Larger services such as Crunchyroll and HIDIVE may offer broader or different catalogs, but readers should search those services title by title rather than assume they carry this package.
The bottom line
The OceanVeil–Media Blasters partnership matters because it gives six hard-to-find anime properties a reported legal streaming route at a time when older licenses are often scattered across expired services and out-of-print releases. The strongest reason to use OceanVeil is specific catalog access, not the “more than 32 hours” headline by itself.
Before paying, verify the individual show page, language tracks, territory, rating, current price, and browser compatibility. Treat the 32-hour total as a reported figure, “rescue” as a metaphor for renewed availability, and OceanVeil’s “most mature” label as marketing rather than an independent ranking.
