Spoilers: The December 2, 2025, Connections solution is game #905. Its four groups are APPROXIMATE, MILD OATHS, MLB PLAYER, and FAMILY MEMBER NICKNAME PLUS A LETTER.

Connections answers for December 2, 2025

Here are the sixteen tiles, sorted into their four groups:

Color Category Tiles
Yellow APPROXIMATE BALLPARK, BROAD, GENERAL, ROUGH
Green MILD OATHS FRICK, FUDGE, SHOOT, SUGAR
Blue MLB PLAYER ANGEL, MET, RAY, ROYAL
Purple FAMILY MEMBER NICKNAME PLUS A LETTER BROW, DADA, MOMA, SISI

How the groups connect

Yellow: APPROXIMATE

BALLPARK, BROAD, GENERAL, and ROUGH can each describe an estimate or something inexact. “In the ballpark” means approximately right.

Green: MILD OATHS

FRICK, FUDGE, SHOOT, and SUGAR are softened expressions used instead of stronger profanity.

Blue: MLB PLAYER

ANGEL, MET, RAY, and ROYAL refer to players on the Angels, Mets, Rays, and Royals, respectively.

Purple: FAMILY MEMBER NICKNAME PLUS A LETTER

Each tile adds one letter to a shortened family-member term: BRO + W makes BROW; DAD + A makes DADA; MOM + A makes MOMA; and SIS + I makes SISI. DADA can also suggest the art movement, making it a potential distraction.

What the puzzle asked

Connections is a digital word puzzle in which players sort sixteen terms into four groups of four based on shared connections. The categories are color-coded by difficulty, and apparent overlaps can make the groupings misleading. The game is available on the NYT Games site for desktop and mobile play. TechRadar and Forbes published answer guides for this date.
