Later arrivals included Secret Level, Beast Games, live hockey and Apple TV+ as a Prime Video add-on. This page is a historical Canadian schedule, not a guarantee that any title remains available now.
December 2024 was a catalogue-heavy month for Prime Video Canada. The biggest influx arrived on December 1, when the service added a broad selection of holiday films, family titles and older library movies. Later in the month, the Canadian schedule was supplemented by the animated anthology Secret Level, the competition series Beast Games, live hockey and the arrival of Apple TV+ as a Prime Video add-on.
This is a historical Canadian release calendar, not a current availability guide. Prime Video libraries change by country, subscription type and date, so a title listed below as part of the December 2024 schedule may no longer be available. Some programming was included with Prime, while other content was offered through add-on channels or live programming.
The main December 1 movie refresh
The December 1 batch was notable less for a single major Amazon production than for its breadth. Prime Video Canada’s schedule brought together seasonal viewing, family animation, recognizable catalogue films and less frequently surfaced library titles.

Holiday viewing
Viewers looking for Christmas films had several familiar options in the historical lineup:
- Love Actually, the ensemble romantic comedy set around interconnected relationships during the holiday season.
- The Grinch, a family-friendly seasonal favourite.
- Dear Santa, another holiday selection in the December 1 movie batch.
- Babes in Toyland, a fantasy-oriented Christmas title.
- Christmas Carol: The Movie, an animated adaptation of Charles Dickens’s classic story.
These were catalogue additions to the Canadian schedule rather than evidence that Amazon produced each film. Their inclusion was useful for viewers building a seasonal watchlist, but their availability should be treated as specific to the December 2024 window.
Family animation
Families also had animated options beyond the traditional Christmas stories. An All Dogs Christmas Carol offered a holiday-themed entry in the All Dogs Go to Heaven world, while Puss in Boots added a more broadly accessible animated adventure to the list.
The schedule’s combination of seasonal animation and non-holiday family entertainment made December 1 more useful for households than a lineup focused only on new prestige series. As with the other titles here, the schedule did not establish that these films remain on Prime Video Canada today.
Recognizable catalogue movies
The December 1 refresh also covered several well-known films from different eras and genres:

- Desperately Seeking Susan, the 1980s comedy-drama starring Rosanna Arquette and Madonna.
This was a useful reminder that a streaming “new releases” list can include older films newly licensed for a particular service or territory. “New on Prime Video” did not necessarily mean “newly made.”
Deep-cut library additions
For viewers who had already worked through the obvious holiday picks, the wider December 1 list provided an opportunity to explore older and less heavily promoted films. The mix of classics, cult-adjacent titles, genre pictures and established studio fare gave the month a stronger library-discovery angle than a short list of Amazon originals would have suggested.
Documentary fans should read the schedule in the same way: a title appearing in a monthly streaming calendar signals a historical licensing or catalogue change, not a permanent addition. Availability can also differ between Prime Video’s included catalogue, rental and purchase listings, and add-on channels.

Notable new series and specials later in December
Secret Level
Secret Level was one of the month’s clearest draws for viewers interested in games and animation. Prime Video describes it as an adult animated anthology featuring original stories set in the worlds of popular video games. The official listing identifies 15 episodes, with the retrieved regional entries showing December 10, 2024 dates.
Its anthology format makes it a natural choice for viewers who prefer shorter, self-contained stories rather than one continuous plot. It also occupies a different space from a conventional game adaptation: the appeal is the combination of recognizable game universes, animation and standalone storytelling. The “adult” designation is important for parents deciding whether it is suitable for younger viewers.

Beast Games
The December schedule also highlighted Beast Games, a competition series hosted by MrBeast. Historical coverage advertised a $5 million prize as part of the program’s premise.
That figure should be understood as the advertised setup for the series in the December 2024 coverage, not as a statement about the eventual contest outcome. The show was aimed at viewers who enjoy large-scale competition formats, elimination challenges and creator-led entertainment rather than scripted drama.
Live programming and Prime Video Channels
Prime Monday Night Hockey
Prime Video Canada’s December schedule was not limited to on-demand movies and series. Coverage identified Prime Monday Night Hockey on December 17, 2024, featuring the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers.
The listing illustrates an important part of the Canadian service: Prime Video combines an on-demand catalogue with selected live sports and other live programming. A sports listing should not be interpreted in the same way as a film addition. The event was tied to its scheduled broadcast date, and access details can depend on the applicable Canadian Prime Video offering.
Apple TV+ arrived as a Canadian add-on
On December 5, 2024, Amazon announced that Apple TV+ on Prime Video Canada had become available as an add-on subscription inside Prime Video in Canada. The launch announcement listed a price of $12.99 CAD per month at that time. That was a historical launch price, so it should not be used as the current price without checking the live subscription page.

The announcement named Apple TV+ programs including:
- Severance
- Bad Sisters
- Silo
- Slow Horses
- The Morning Show
- Presumed Innocent
- Shrinking
- Hijack
- Loot
- Palm Royale
This was not the same as adding those shows to the standard Prime catalogue. It was an expansion of Prime Video’s channel ecosystem: subscribers could manage an additional paid service through the Prime Video interface. Amazon’s Canadian materials also named other add-on options, including Sportsnet, TSN, Paramount+, Crave, STACKTV and BritBox. Availability, pricing and included programming for each channel can change independently.
Watching the December lineup on a television
Prime Video Canada is designed to work across compatible devices, so a dedicated Amazon streaming device was not required. If your television needs an upgrade, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max was a relevant optional way to access Prime Video and other streaming apps. Amazon Canada lists support for 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6E and 16 GB of storage.
Those specifications matter only if the rest of the setup supports them. A compatible 4K television, suitable content, and an adequately capable home network are needed to benefit from 4K or HDR features. The device should therefore be viewed as a convenience and interface option—not a requirement for watching Prime Video Canada.

| Date | Titles scheduled to leave |
|---|---|
| December 1, 2024 | The Croods |
| December 2, 2024 | Knock at the Cabin |
| December 16, 2024 | Of an Age |
| December 23, 2024 | Cocaine Bear |
| December 30, 2024 | Rizzoli & Isles, 2 Broke Girls, Smallville and Nip/Tuck |
| December 31, 2024 | Loudermilk |
Departure dates are especially easy to misread in archived streaming calendars. A film leaving on a particular date may later return, move to another service, become available to rent or buy, or disappear from the Canadian market altogether. None of those outcomes can be inferred from the December 2024 schedule alone.
How to use this list now
- Start with the date. This article records what was reported for Prime Video Canada in December 2024, not what is currently streaming.
- Confirm the Canadian catalogue. Search Prime Video Canada directly before planning a watchlist, since U.S. and other regional libraries are different.
- Check the access category. Determine whether a title is included with Prime, offered through a paid Prime Video Channel, or listed only for rental or purchase.
- For live events, check the schedule. Sports rights and event availability are tied to dates and can differ from the on-demand library.
- Recheck prices. The $12.99 CAD Apple TV+ launch price was accurate for the December 2024 announcement but is not a current-price guarantee.
December 2024 at a glance
- Biggest release date: December 1, when the largest movie batch arrived.
- Best seasonal starting points: Love Actually, The Grinch, Dear Santa and An All Dogs Christmas Carol.
- Best fit for game and animation fans: Secret Level, an adult animated anthology with 15 episodes.

- Live programming: Prime Monday Night Hockey featuring the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers on December 17.

In short, December 2024 was a broad catalogue month for Prime Video Canada: a substantial December 1 movie refresh, a few prominent original or exclusive-style attractions, live sports and a larger channel ecosystem. It remains a useful historical snapshot, but every title and price should be independently rechecked before being described as available today.
