The biggest HBO Max premieres in September 2025 were Friendship on September 5, Warfare on September 12, and Superman on September 19. The month also brought HBO’s drama Task, the two-part documentary Seen & Heard: The History of Black Television, the documentary series Quiet In Class, and the documentary feature Prime Minister.
This is the complete U.S. September 2025 schedule, preserved as a historical guide. It includes a much larger group of library movies, reality series, documentaries, specials, and new season batches—not just HBO Max originals. Because September 2025 has passed, individual titles may no longer be available.

The complete HBO Max September 2025 schedule
The date-by-date list below follows the published U.S. schedule. Season, volume, and letter suffixes are retained because they identify the particular installment or batch that was announced. A movie or series appearing here does not necessarily mean it was an HBO or Max original; many entries were catalog additions.

Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →What kind of month was September 2025?
September was a mix of high-profile film premieres and a particularly large unscripted and documentary rollout. The strongest movie hooks were Friendship, Warfare, and Superman, while the television side leaned heavily toward reality, competition, renovation, food, investigation, and documentary programming.
That distinction matters when scanning the calendar. The September 1 list, for example, was dominated by library films spanning older Hollywood titles, international animation, horror, crime, drama, and more recent studio releases. Those films were new to the service’s schedule at the time, but they should not be mistaken for newly produced HBO Max originals.
Documentary viewers had several more targeted options throughout the month: Seen & Heard: The History of Black Television arrived as a two-part HBO documentary on September 9; The Devil Is Busy, American Prince: JFK Jr., and The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper: Sports Betting, America’s Biggest Gamble were listed on September 23; and Prime Minister arrived on September 30. The schedule also included Live Aid: When Rock ’n’ Roll Took On The World on September 5.
How to check whether a September title is still available
HBO Max availability is title- and territory-dependent, and licensing windows can be limited. A title that appeared on the U.S. September 2025 schedule may have since left the catalog, while availability in another country may never have matched the U.S. list.
- Open HBO Max in the relevant country or territory.
- Check the service’s Just Added and Coming to HBO Max rows for recent additions.
- Use the Last Chance row before assuming a title will remain available.
- Search for the exact title, including a season or volume number where one is listed above.
The service’s own catalog is the final check for current availability. This calendar records what was announced or listed for September 2025; it is not a promise that every title remains streamable today.

Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWere all of the September 1 movies HBO Max originals?
No. September 1 was mainly a large library refresh. The list included older films, international titles, catalog favorites, and previously released studio movies alongside other additions.
How can I find out whether one of these titles is still on HBO Max?
Search for the title in HBO Max and check the service’s Just Added, Coming to HBO Max, and Last Chance rows. HBO Max’s live catalog is more reliable than an archived release calendar.
The Bottom Line
The short version: September 2025’s most notable HBO Max arrivals were Friendship, Task, Seen & Heard, Warfare, and Superman, with a broad library and unscripted-TV expansion filling out the rest of the month.
