Short answer: Netflix’s games are a real perk included with a membership, but they are unlikely to justify the latest price increase for someone who mainly wants TV and films. In the U.S., the reported March 2026 prices rose to $8.99 a month for Standard with Ads, $19.99 for Standard and $26.99 for Premium. Netflix now offers mobile games and a growing, limited TV and browser games beta—but those experiences vary by device, country and title.
That makes the decision less about whether Netflix has games and more about whether anyone in your household will actually play them. A family or casual mobile gamer may get extra value; a TV-first subscriber unhappy about a canceled series may be better off downgrading or subscribing only when a show they want is available.
What changed in Netflix’s U.S. prices
In March 2026, Netflix raised the reported monthly prices of all three advertised U.S. plans. The change was reported as the company’s second U.S. increase in roughly 14 months.

These are reported U.S. prices, not worldwide rates. Netflix says prices vary by country and can change. Extra-member charges and legacy-plan costs may also differ, so check the plan and billing details shown in your own account before treating these figures as your next bill. Taxes, payment through a third party and bundles can also affect what you ultimately pay. Netflix’s explanation for price changes is that it adjusts pricing as it adds entertainment and reinvests in the service. Its broader strategy includes spending on series, films, live programming, podcasts, advertising technology and games. That does not establish that this particular increase was raised to pay for games. For subscribers, the practical counterpoint is simpler: the higher charge is immediate, while the value of new content or games depends on what you actually watch and play.
“More games” covers several different experiences
Netflix gaming is not one uniform service or a console-scale catalog. The company’s offerings fall into distinct categories, with different devices and availability.
Mobile games
Netflix advertises more than 80 mobile games in its Help Center catalog. You download them through the Apple App Store or Google Play, then access them with an active Netflix membership. Netflix says its mobile games have no separate game fee, ads or in-app purchases. Game progress is associated with the Netflix profile you select.

The catalog mixes different kinds of games: recognizable licensed or adapted titles such as Red Dead Redemption and OXENFREE; games tied to Netflix properties; children’s and family options; party games; and narrative or puzzle titles. Those are not interchangeable experiences, and a title appearing in the mobile catalog does not mean it is playable on a TV. Check the current mobile-games catalog and requirements for the title you want.

Netflix recommends Android 9 or later, iOS 17 or later, and iPadOS 17 or later for the best experience across its games, but individual titles can have different minimum requirements. A game may also be missing because a device is incompatible, the game is unavailable in your region, or a profile’s maturity settings restrict it.
TV and browser games
Netflix has also begun offering games on compatible TVs and through Netflix.com in supported countries, including the United States. This remains a beta experience, not a feature guaranteed on every Netflix device. Many games use a phone or tablet as a controller, and the TV experience requires a stable internet connection; Netflix recommends at least 10 Mbps. Particular browser games may require Chrome or Edge. Controls vary by title, and physical gamepad support is not universal.
This living-room and cloud-play expansion is strategically more significant than simply adding another phone game: it puts interactive entertainment alongside Netflix’s video service on a bigger screen. But it is still device-, country- and game-dependent. Netflix’s TV and Netflix.com games guide lists supported setups and countries. A TV that can stream Netflix does not necessarily support Netflix games.

Netflix Playground
Netflix reported launching Netflix Playground in April 2026, a standalone gaming app aimed at children. It adds another way to reach younger players, but it should not be confused with the Netflix app’s regular mobile-games row or with the TV games beta.

Netflix has also said it plans to expand its cloud-games lineup in 2026, including a reimagined FIFA football title. That is a stated plan, not a reason to assume a particular game is available now on your device. Catalogs and rollouts change; check Netflix’s support pages for current availability.
Are games included with every plan?
Netflix says games are included with membership, without separate game fees, ads or in-app purchases for its mobile games. You need an active membership, and a particular game still may not be accessible on your device, in your country or on a profile with restrictive maturity settings. TV and browser games are not universally available just because you subscribe.
There is no evidence here that Premium unlocks a larger games catalog or better games. Choose a plan for its video features and household needs—not on the assumption that paying more will improve gaming access. Plan limits, such as screens or simultaneous use, can also affect how a household shares the service; consult Netflix’s current membership and games information and troubleshooting guidance.

On a phone or tablet
- Open the Netflix app and look for the Mobile Games row or Games shortcut.
- Select a title and choose Get Game or Play Game.
- Install it through the App Store or Google Play, then open it.
- If prompted, sign in and choose the Netflix profile whose progress you want to use.
Take care with saves: progress is tied to the selected profile, and deleting that profile can permanently delete its associated game progress. For access details, see Netflix’s mobile game instructions.

On a compatible TV
- Open Netflix on a supported TV or streaming device and select a profile.
- Choose Games, then select a TV-compatible title and choose Play Game.
- Scan the on-screen QR code and connect a phone or tablet for each player.
- Use the phone or tablet as directed to start playing.
If Games is missing, the device may not support the beta, the feature may not be available in your country, or the TV may need a software update. A missing row does not necessarily mean your plan is ineligible.
On a computer
Open Netflix.com in a supported browser such as Chrome or Edge, select a profile and choose Games. Choose a compatible title and follow its controls; depending on the game, you may use a keyboard and mouse or a phone or tablet. Netflix’s phone-controller guide explains the mobile-controller setup. Controller behavior varies, so confirm support for the specific title rather than buying or relying on a particular gamepad.
Who gets meaningful value from the games?
- TV-first viewer: Probably little. If games are never used, they do not compensate for a higher price or a show you hoped to watch that has ended.
- Family household: Potentially more. Children’s games and party titles can add options without a separate game subscription, provided the family has compatible devices and actually plays them.
- Casual mobile gamer: Possibly. A selection without ads or in-app purchases may be appealing if its titles match your interests. It is still a limited, changing selection rather than a promise of every game you want.
- Serious gamer: Usually not as a replacement for dedicated gaming services. Netflix spans mobile downloads and an emerging TV/browser experience, but it is not equivalent to a console or PC storefront in breadth, hardware ecosystem, release model or multiplayer infrastructure.
So the games do make Netflix’s bundle more varied. They are most persuasive for households that will use both the video service and the games, not for someone who subscribes only to watch a particular series.
A practical keep, downgrade or cancel calculation
- Look at actual use. Consider how much your household watched in the last month and whether anyone played a Netflix game. A large theoretical catalog matters less than titles people opened.
- Check what you value in your plan. Standard with Ads is the lowest reported U.S. price, but ads and plan restrictions may make it a poor fit for some viewers. Standard may suit households wanting Netflix without ads at a lower price than Premium. Premium makes sense when the household uses its video features and simultaneous viewing—not simply because games exist.
- Verify the game before counting it. Check the title, platform, country and device. Do not upgrade or buy a new TV, phone or streaming device solely for a game unless Netflix confirms that exact setup supports it.
- Consider timing your subscription. If you subscribe for one show or a small number of releases, you may be able to subscribe when those episodes or films are available, then cancel and return later. That can be more rational than paying year-round for content you rarely use.
- Check account-specific billing. Review the plan page and billing arrangement in your Netflix account. A plan change, extra-member arrangement, legacy plan or third-party bundle can make your bill differ from the advertised price.
- Weigh switching against what you actually want. Dedicated services such as Xbox Game Pass or Apple Arcade are gaming-first alternatives, not like-for-like Netflix replacements. If your dissatisfaction is with video programming, compare video services for the shows you care about rather than treating a game subscription as a substitute.
Before canceling, consider saved progress: Netflix game saves can be tied to a profile, and deleting that profile can remove them. If you plan to return, avoid deleting a profile that holds progress you want to keep.

The verdict
Netflix’s gaming push is real: the mobile collection is substantial enough to browse, and TV and browser games extend the idea beyond phones. For some families and casual players, that included entertainment adds genuine value. But the U.S. price increase is not proven to be a charge specifically for games, and games are not a universal benefit when access depends on compatible devices, regions and individual titles.
If you mainly subscribe for films and series and feel the latest price is no longer worth it, Netflix’s games are not a compelling reason by themselves to stay. If your household watches regularly and will use the games too, they can strengthen the case. Make the decision on what you use, verify your account’s current price and game access, and treat cancellation or seasonal subscribing as legitimate options.
Prices and game availability can change. Netflix’s live plan page and games support information are the best places to check before making a decision.
