Netflix Preview Club is an active, invite-only audience-feedback program. Selected Netflix members can watch early versions of some films and series, then answer surveys; there is no public application, and subscribing does not guarantee an invitation. The “opening its doors” headline refers to expansion coverage from December 2022, not a new public launch. Netflix’s current Help Center explains how the program works today.
What Netflix Preview Club is—and what it is not
Preview Club is a way for Netflix to gather audience feedback on work in progress. It is not a conventional fan club, a paid review job, a public screening service, or a separate subscription tier. Selected members may be invited to watch an early version of a film or series, answer a survey, or take part in an optional moderated focus group. In some cases, Netflix asks for feedback on a proposed title before filming begins. Netflix describes the program here.

What the 2022 “opening its doors” story meant
The headline refers to reporting published on December 1, 2022. At the time, coverage said Netflix was expanding a program described as having roughly 2,000 participants toward “tens of thousands,” potentially in more countries. Those were historical reports and projections—not evidence of a current participant count, a universal rollout, or an open application process. TechTimes reported the expansion, as did TechRadar. Netflix’s current documentation still describes Preview Club as invitation-only.
Can you apply, and how are members selected?
No. Netflix says it preselects members and does not accept requests to join. Selection may take account of viewing behavior and how long someone has been a member, but Netflix does not publish a complete selection formula. There is no documented way to improve your odds by watching a particular genre, rating every show, or choosing a particular plan. An invitation may also be followed by qualifying questions, so receiving one does not necessarily confirm final eligibility. Netflix’s eligibility guidance does not promise access in any country or for any subscriber.

How invitations and screenings work
Netflix says invitations may arrive by email, through a Netflix app notification, or as a notification on the Netflix website. After qualifying questions, a member generally receives an email the day before a screening becomes available and another message confirming access. Screening windows usually last a few days. Netflix says members may receive a few screening invitations per year, more or fewer depending on the schedule, the title’s target audience, and participation in earlier screenings.
- Check for an invitation. Look in email and Netflix notifications. Netflix identifies
[email protected]and[email protected]as legitimate invitation senders. - Use the primary profile. On the Netflix home screen, look for the row called Netflix Preview Club; in a web browser, it may appear as Preview Content. You can also search for the title.
- Enter a temporary code if asked. Netflix may send a code to the account email address or phone number. It is valid for four hours on the device for which it was generated; text delivery requires a verified phone number.
- Watch during the available window. Access is time-limited, and a title may disappear when the screening window closes.
- Complete the survey. Netflix says surveys usually take 10–20 minutes. A screening plus its survey can take about 40 minutes to three and a half hours, depending on the title’s runtime. Surveys about proposed titles generally take less than 10 minutes.
Netflix’s current Help Center describes temporary screening codes and primary-profile access. Its participation terms also discuss security measures such as unique PINs and temporary screener accounts; the terms are not a reason to assume every screening uses the same access setup.

What you may see—and whether feedback changes anything
Early access can mean an unfinished cut rather than a polished preview. Netflix says screenings may include incomplete sound or visual effects, green-screen backgrounds, visible stunt cables, scenes without music, or missing subtitles. Screenings may take place months before a public release, leaving time for production changes.
Netflix says collective feedback is shared with creators and that comments have contributed to changes such as scene swaps, visual edits, and reshoots. That does not mean a particular suggestion—or even a particular title—will change. The program is a chance to give feedback, not a promise of influence over the final release. Earlier subscriber-panel reporting described questions about what viewers liked, disliked, would improve, and whether they would recommend a title; Variety’s 2022 coverage also reported confidentiality requirements for those panels.

Does it cost money, and do members get paid?
Netflix says Preview Club has no additional fee for invited members, but participants still need a Netflix account and remain responsible for their ordinary subscription. The participation terms describe feedback as voluntary and uncompensated. The stated benefit is early access and the opportunity to share views—not cash, a subscription discount, or free Netflix. Netflix Help Center and the participation terms set out those points.
Confidentiality: no spoilers, screenshots, or public reviews
Preview Club screenings are confidential. The participation terms prohibit sharing unreleased titles, cast or character information, plotlines, endings, screening materials, or survey content—including on social media, blogs, fan sites, or other outlets. They also prohibit photographing, filming, or recording the material. Netflix may watermark content, monitor streaming activity, and end access. Do not treat an invitation as permission to publish a review or spoiler; household viewers are also subject to confidentiality rules. Read the participation terms before taking part.
How to spot a real invitation and avoid scams
Netflix says onboarding may ask for personal details such as name, age, gender, or ethnicity, but it will not ask for your payment information or Netflix account password as part of the Preview Club invitation process. Treat requests for either as a warning. Check the sender against Netflix’s listed addresses, and if anything seems uncertain, open Netflix through its official app or website rather than entering credentials on an unfamiliar page. A third-party “application,” paid access offer, or claim that a subscription plan guarantees entry is not supported by Netflix’s stated process. See Netflix’s invitation and security guidance.

The Preview Club row or title is missing
First switch to the account’s primary profile. Then update the Netflix app, restart the device, and sign out and back in. Search for the title directly as well. If it still is not available, the screening window may not have opened yet or may already have closed. Netflix lists these steps.

The temporary code does not work
Confirm that the code was generated for the device you are using and that fewer than four hours have passed. Check that Netflix is updated and that the code went to the account’s correct email address or verified phone number.
You cannot find the survey
Use the link in the invitation email, visit netflix.com/preview-club, or scan the QR code shown on the TV after finishing a screening. Netflix says surveys about proposed titles may be available only through the invitation email. Check its survey instructions.
You changed your mind
You can ignore invitations or unsubscribe from Preview Club emails; Netflix says members who do not participate will eventually be removed. If you selected “Not Interested” by mistake, Netflix says another invitation may arrive in about a week if you remain eligible, but that is not guaranteed. Netflix explains these options.
Can other people in your household watch?
Netflix says the primary account owner must join, and people in the same household may watch with that member subject to the same confidentiality obligations. Netflix may ask who watched and may provide title details, including an estimated rating, to help a household decide who should participate. The invited member is responsible for ensuring household viewers follow the rules. Netflix’s current guidance and its terms describe the household conditions.

What to do if you want an invitation
There is no legitimate signup shortcut: Netflix does not accept applications, and an ordinary subscription does not guarantee access. Keep your Netflix contact details current and watch for a notification in Netflix or an email from a listed address. If no invitation arrives, that is consistent with the selective program—not a sign that you missed a public registration window.
