What began as an MSI teaser on February 20, 2026, became an official Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End hardware collaboration on March 10. The graphics card is the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G FRIEREN EDITION OC—not the RTX 5090 or RTX 5080 suggested by early speculation. MSI has confirmed the design and core hardware, but the reviewed official sources do not establish a U.S. price, production quantity, or broad retail availability as of August 16, 2026.
From teaser to confirmed product
Early coverage described an anime collaboration without naming a model, price, launch window, or sales region. MSI’s February 20 teaser therefore supported speculation, not a confirmed RTX 5090 or RTX 5080.
On March 10, MSI formally announced its Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End limited-edition series in an official news release. MSI later published a U.S.-specific datasheet, confirming that the graphics card is a real product rather than a concept image.
Confirmed model and specifications
The complete name is MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G FRIEREN EDITION OC. MSI’s U.S. datasheet identifies model G507T-16FEC and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU with 16GB of memory.

MSI has not exposed every buying detail in the reviewed Frieren documentation, including exact boost clock, total board power, memory bus, and recommended wattage. Those figures should not be borrowed from another RTX 5070 Ti.
What makes the Frieren Edition different?
The card uses MSI’s GAMING TRIO platform and TRI FROZR 4 cooling system. The announced hardware features include STORMFORCE fans, a nickel-plated copper baseplate, Square Core Pipes, Wave Curved 4.0 fins, Air Antegrade Fin 2.0, and dual BIOS.
Heat-reactive artwork
A metal backplate includes a thermochromic area whose artwork becomes visible or changes visibility as the card heats and cools. It is a visual effect, not a calibrated temperature readout or a performance feature.
Cosmetic versus functional changes
The Frieren branding, anime artwork, pastel-and-white styling, RGB presentation, and thermochromic backplate distinguish this card. There is no evidence in MSI’s announcement or datasheet of a unique GPU architecture or exclusive gaming capability. In practical terms, the premium—if retailers charge one—would be for licensed design, packaging, cooler implementation, and collectability rather than a new performance class.

It is safest to call the imagery Frieren-inspired unless MSI explicitly identifies a particular character or scene.
The other products in the collaboration
MSI announced four products:
- GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G FRIEREN EDITION OC
- FORGE TKL WIRELESS FRIEREN EDITION keyboard
- VERSA WIRELESS FRIEREN EDITION mouse
- AGILITY FRIEREN EDITION mouse pad
They are presented as products in the same collection, not automatically as one bundle. A regional retailer would need to specify any included extras; MSI’s main announcement does not establish figures, posters, certificates, blankets, or other accessories.
Price, stock and what “limited edition” means
MSI calls the range “limited-edition” and “exclusive,” but the reviewed official material does not disclose a total production run, regional allocation, second-run policy, or whether the term refers to manufacturing volume, sales period, or licensing.

As of August 16, 2026, the reviewed MSI U.S. GeForce RTX 50-series store page did not show a direct Frieren Edition listing or verified U.S. price. A U.S. datasheet proves documentation, not inventory. It is therefore not established that the card is globally available, sold out, U.S.-exclusive, or permanently unavailable.
Regional launches can differ. Before importing, verify the seller’s country, warranty coverage, return process, taxes, shipping, and power-accessory details. Do not treat prices for unrelated MSI cards as the Frieren Edition’s MSRP.

At 338 mm long and 50 mm thick, this is a substantial card. Check your case manufacturer’s GPU-clearance specification and account for front radiators, drive cages, adjacent slots, and side-panel space. Leave room for a safe bend in the 16-pin cable.
- Use the PSU maker’s native 16-pin cable where possible.
- Fully seat the connector before powering on.
- Avoid sharply bending the cable immediately at the plug.
- Confirm that your supply meets MSI’s ATX 3.1 recommendation.
These are general installation precautions; the thermochromic backplate should not be used as a thermal diagnostic.
Who should buy it?
Good fit
- Frieren collectors: the licensed artwork and changing backplate are the main attraction.
- Themed-build owners: the white and pastel styling can anchor a coordinated system.
- RTX 5070 Ti shoppers: it may make sense if its eventual price is close to comparable premium RTX 5070 Ti cards.
- Complete-set collectors: the keyboard, mouse, and mouse pad extend the theme.
Poor fit
- Performance-per-dollar buyers who do not value licensed design.
- Small-form-factor or tightly packed case owners.
- Systems without a suitable 16-pin power connection and ATX 3.1-capable supply.
- Anyone paying a large premium solely expecting higher frame rates.
Collectability is subjective and does not guarantee future resale value. If a large premium appears, compare it with ordinary RTX 5070 Ti cards on price, clock settings, warranty, and return terms—not just appearance.
Bottom line
MSI’s Frieren graphics card is real: a documented, factory-overclocked RTX 5070 Ti 16G with a GAMING TRIO-derived cooler and thermochromic artwork. It is best understood as a licensed collector-oriented implementation of an existing GPU platform. The unresolved buying questions are its region-specific price and stock, production quantity, and any retailer-specific bundles.
