Ms. Rachel, whose name is Rachel Accurso, and her husband, composer Aron Accurso, welcomed their second child, a daughter named Susannah. Rachel announced the news on Instagram on April 8, 2025, and said she was unable to carry the pregnancy for medical reasons, so the family welcomed Susannah with the help of a surrogate.
What Ms. Rachel announced
Rachel’s April 8, 2025, Instagram post introduced the baby as Susannah and said the family was “so in love.” Good Morning America quoted her announcement: “We welcomed sweet baby Susannah into the world! We are so in love!” Good Morning America reported that Susannah is the couple’s second child.
What Rachel said about the surrogate
Rachel said she could not carry the pregnancy for medical reasons and that a surrogate helped the family welcome their daughter. In the caption quoted by Good Morning America, she wrote: “I was unable to carry this pregnancy for medical reasons and we were blessed to have a surrogate who gave us the most precious gift possible.” She also expressed gratitude for the surrogate and the bond they share. ABC News repeated Rachel’s public explanation in a follow-up report.
Rachel has not publicly specified a diagnosis in the cited reports, so there is no basis for drawing conclusions about her medical circumstances. The reports do not name the surrogate.

Who is in the Accurso family?
Susannah is Rachel and Aron’s second child. The couple also have an older son, Thomas. Aron is Rachel’s husband and is described in the reporting as a composer, music director, and business partner. Us Weekly reproduced another line from Rachel’s caption, in which she thanked Aron for being “the best husband and dada!” Us Weekly
When the announcement happened
The family news was announced on April 8, 2025. The word “quietly” captures the surprise of Rachel’s Instagram announcement; it does not establish that the family kept Susannah’s existence private for any particular period.
