Michelle Williams publicly thanked her surrogate, Christine, during an August 2025 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she also confirmed that her fourth child is a girl. The baby was born earlier in 2025; she is Williams’s third child with husband Thomas Kail.
What Michelle Williams said about her surrogate
Guest host Tiffany Haddish complimented Williams’s figure. Williams replied: “Then I’ve got to give a big shoutout to Christine, cause this last baby did not come through my body.” She went on to call the baby “the miracle of our little girl” and added, “Maybe you’re watching out there; thank you, Christine.” ABC Audio’s August 19, 2025 report and Good Morning America’s account covered the remarks.
The reports identify the surrogate only by her first name, Christine. They provide no further biographical details.
Williams’s family update
Williams said, “Thanks to Christine, I have three under 5 at home.” That describes her family at the time of the August 2025 interview, not the children’s ages today. She also said, “It’s good, it’s just really busy. I’m trying to figure out the sort of life-work balance.”

She joked that the Social Security office offered “complete silence for at least one hour,” referring to the appeal of a quiet moment amid family life.
What was reported, and when
An April 4, 2025 Los Angeles Times report, citing a source for People, said Williams and Kail had welcomed a child. The Times noted that a representative for Williams had not immediately responded to its request for confirmation. Williams’s August remarks later provided her own public acknowledgment of the birth and the surrogate.

ABC Audio reported on August 19, 2025 that the names of the couple’s two youngest children had not been announced publicly. That was the status given in that report; it does not establish whether the names have been shared since.
